Crime for Oh Great to write his own stories.

I have to agree that Oh Great is not a good story teller. I really don't mind messed up physics in mangas, or ridiculous character personalities. In fact, I enjoy them. And concealing certain elements of the plot till later in the story is a classic story telling element. But Oh Great just isn't able to connect different parts of his story. You constantly find yourself trying to figure out what exactly happened and how his characters ended up there. I used to think it must have been the translators fault, but after reading both TT and Air Gear I think its just his lack in ability as an authour that's to blame.

Dragfeonix sums up the problem perfectly. This is a classic example of the problems that come with making up the story as you write it. Many mangaka will begin a series without having a clear of where the story is heading, and the better storytellers are the ones who can connect the original premise seamlessly with the new material they are making up. Oh! Great isn't very good at connecting old and new material in a convincing way. It's a bigger problem in "Air Gear" than in TenTen, turning a sports manga into a science fiction series (it seems that way to me, I suppose because TenTen turned went from being a martial arts series to a fantasy series earlier on in the story than it did in AG).
But I still like his work. He's a very talented artist and has a knack for creating original, interesting characters. His storytelling may not be great, but his series are still entertaining. So it goes. 😁
This topic has been beaten to death.
Just had to point it out for those who haven't realised it yet.
For those who have, my appologies.
