Revenge/vendetta
What are your toughts about it?
I'm between the second and third option (I'm no backstabber 🤣 ), while sometimes I can understand why people are driven to do such things, I don't think it will do the person in question any good.
I certainly liked the idea when I was little, you know, movies and all of that, but my father told me it wasn't a good thing, now certainly I think the same.
I've never seek revenge yet, I hope it keeps that way.

Although I don't support revenge seeking in real life, it makes for a good story.

This signature was recovered from Hades to serve in my rotting armies.
I think revenge is useless, I wouldn't get anything but regret after the dirty deed, and wasted time plotting on revenge when I could do something more productive...but this is speaking from a logical standpoint. I wouldn't put seeking revenge past me....

Premeditated revenge [often] is unnecessary. Now retaliation, on the other hand, is often warranted.

revenge is a must. cuz sometimes, you can't let go of certain stuff, and nobody gonna take care of it.
me, i'm vengeful person. but i know frontal revenge is useless. so, i forget about it.. or so they thought. i became their friend and stuff, help them when they need help, gain their trust.. when the time is perfect, i strike. physically of mentally. they gonna see me as backstabber.. but i see it as revenge.
is it just me, or does mental/emotional backstab hurts more than physical?
Let's get Kickin' ...whatever that means

Nope, it's not just you. Emotional pain tends to stick for years~

Only in some circumstances.
I've never backstabbed, but I don't
know if I would.
I don't recall revenging anything,
but I prolly have as a kid, like hitting
back or stuff like that, but no devious master
plans here.

Sure, I support revenge if it has a good reason.
Like the death penalty...
Revenge for petty things is stupid. Revenge that fills your life is a waste, because all is left is emptyness.
To avenge a loved one can give you reliefe. But I've never had that. (also sounds like a line from a movie...)
I'd like to see those who poisoned my dog turtured and killed, but what can I do about it... I won't go on a vendetta... No use really...
It's all vague for me...
Also, I don't stab people in the back.
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

The dead person doesn't get to revenge the act. .__.
Someone else will. : D And so the cycle will continue...
Personally, I don't see a purpose in revenge - this is out of manga context of course. If your whole family was murdered, that would be a bit different, since the severity of the situation is much higher...
That being said, I'm no person to hold petty grudges over the years though.

I can be vindictive... but I would never backstab.
"Remember, remember the fifth of November..."
Ne, I don't hold grudges. I'm too immature to do that kind of grown-up thing.
Forever lurking...
You know that saying, "An eye for an eye the whole world goes blind"? The way I see it is that eventually somebody won't be able to see his opponents eye.

I wonder if this thread was started by the recent Naruto discussions...
I'm a little iffy about the death penalty, but even then, I don't look at the death penalty as revenge, I look at it as justice. In my eyes, I look at revenge as something someone does when they are wronged (whether extreme or mild). When someone seeks revenge, they are looking to personally satisfy their own needs. However, when someone goes looking for justice, they are looking to better mankind (or at least their immediate community) by removing an immanent danger from people's lives.
"When you set out on a journey of revenge, dig two graves." I think this Confucius saying is as true can be. There are some people who get so fixated on revenge, that they isolate themselves from their friends, and sometimes even put their own health at risk by constantly watching their target so they can plan when the most opportune time would be to strike. Some can even go as far as becoming deceitful people and slowly working their way in closer to their target, and striking when they have the target's complete trust. In my eyes, that's even worse than getting straight up revenge. And a lot of times, the revenge that people seek end up giving them a bitter taste in their mouth.
I understand that sometimes people just can't help but hold vendettas. We are human after all. However, if you look at some of the most influential and, in my eyes, great people in history (your Jesus, Mohammad, Martin Luther King Jr., Ghandi, Confucius, and Buddha type of people) you can see that it is, in fact, within man's reach to transcend petty things like revenge. So, although it is hard, I think people should really try to move on with their lives before pursuing revenge. The truly strong people are those who can honestly "turn the other cheek" when they are wronged.

Vendetta?
Loads of them.
Actually doing something about it?
Not many.
It really depends on the circumstances.
Revenges are useless, it make things worse than they really are.
But like ahoaho said, retaliations are definite. 😎
