I remember the plot semi- clearly

the story goes along the lines of this:

The main character first likes her childhood friend. They are very close and confide in each other but the childhood friend has a lot of girlfriends.

The story starts along the lines of the childhood friend kissing her [the main character] thinking that it's going to lead to boyfriend/girlfriend stuff. Unfortunately, she's wrong and the next day [or something] he gets a new girlfriend.

However as the senpai/ team captain of her club begins to comfort her, she starts to fall for him. In the end, she ends up with the captain.
