First of all, this isn't a gender-exclusive phenomenon. It's just the ancient old, "I like you, but not in that way"-dilemma. It hurts a lot to hear that from the one you're crushing on, I suppose? Hence, why people dislike the friendzone. If you're interested in a person, friends always warn you to move quickly before you get placed in the friendzone, which usually is hard to break out unless luck is on your side.
