This week's poll by rallwka is about the age you started reading manga. As long as you remember, this one should be easy!

You can submit poll ideas here (and try to keep them manga/anime-related)
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=3903

Previous Poll Results:
Question: If a publisher were to adopt a model where you pay a monthly subscription (say ~$10 USD) in order to read their entire library of translated manga via a digital device, would you subscribe?
Choices:
Yes - votes: 6400 (57.6%)
No - votes: 4713 (42.4%)
There were 11113 total votes.
The poll ended: March 15th 2013

There's so many factors associated with this (like how large the library of series would be), so don't expect this poll to be a market analysis of any sort. In other news, JManga is closing its retail and viewing services

Warn: Banned

I think I was around 5-6 at the time I read my first manga, but I didn't really get into it until I started high school.

I was around 2nd - 3rd grade of elementary school when I bought my first manga: Sailor Moon and Card Captor Sakura. I guess I was 8 y.o that time..

I think I was about grade 6 when I accidentally picked up an issue of Shounen Jump at my local supermarket and the rest is history. 🤣

Does this include anime?
I've started with Dragonball and Pokémon around the age of 10 or 11.
But for manga it took some time until I was around 18-19 (we don't have much manga in my country, it took some time until I found it on the Internetz). 😉

I started with pokemon (series and gameboy games) when I was 8-9 years old, but in my opinion that doesn't count, as I wasn't aware of it being anime.

I bought my first 3 manga volumes when I was around 13 years old; One Piece, D.N. Angel and Ranma 1/2. Within a week I'd bought another ten volumes, and then I was hooked.

I was 14 I think. I had just started year 10 at the time, so I was 14 going on 15.
I remember it well. I stumbled across a random manga, found a link to OneManga on that site and I've never looked back since.

10 years ago!!! I was 14 and it was the summer before I entered 10th grade. There was a small manga section next to the YA books in B&N and I picked one up. I can't remember the first one but it may have been Kare Kano. I remember reading Kare Kano and Peach Girl that summer 🙂 Neither which i have finished mind you. 🤣
