Description
[From Viz]:
Being a teenage martial artist isn't easy, especially for Ranma Saotome, who went through a major transformation on a training mission with his father. After an accidental dunk into a legendary cursed spring in China, Ranma now changes into a girl every time he's splashed with cold water. That would be enough to complicate anyone's life, even without the arranged fiancée who doesn't like him (or says she doesn't) and the constant stream of rivals and suitors for both his male and female forms. What's a half-guy, half-girl to do?

Just too hilarious .This is one of my fav/ manga. There are many ridiculous scenes, which makes me love it actually. No character development, but, well, after all, the main purpose of this manga is humour. It's still a great manga, deserve my 10!
I love this series. Even though people may say it has flaws, who is perfect. I reread it every once in a while, and I don't really mind the length. If you have time, like Takashi's work, and enjoy comedy with a gender bender twist, I suggest your try this out. I think you may really enjoy it!
It starts off very funny with an original plot, but it quickly starts recycling into the same again and again. I tried reading this in one go but really couldn't. I guess it's an OK read if you take your time, though.
I guess I can say I liked this manga, although, it was in an episodic format (Meaning a different story everyday instead continuing with one big story). I like Rumiko Takashi's works and this is just one of them that I liked. I enjoyed the usual fuss between Ranma and Akane, but the humor in the story was just...not really humorous. But again, I only approached this manga for its romantic parts, so it doesn't really matter either way. ==
I don't really like this manga. The first volume is fine but I soon found out that all other volumes are the same. It really lacks character development and the martial arts bit is only for comedy. It never made me laugh and then I realized that I was forcing myself to read it. I liked the original idea and I usually love long mangas but since it wasn't getting anywhere I dropped it about halfway.
i have to say, that this manga was very well done, funny most of the time and the and the drama.... well cant say there was realyl any since each time there was one it turns into to something funny.
cant say that it had a nice ending in both anime and manga but the manga has a better conclusion than the anime. Well to tell u the truth i like the ending cause it is cool to be able to change gender, u can do perverted shit and will never get caught. well i like gender bender manga such as those.
The only really bad thing here is the lenght, but is't Rumiko so it's no surpise. Anyway I love this manga, the characters are extremely original, the humor brilliant, and the art fits the story soo well. You are never bored, at least not for the 25 first books. xD After that it gets a bit repetevtive, but not enough to make you quit the series.
If you are looking for a good laugh, this is the manga you are looking for. :3
The comments before said it all. A classic. Delightfully funny. A gateway manga for many, including myself. It's only bad points are the occasional repetitiveness and lack of powerful/suspenseful underlying plot. And yet despite it's seeming bad qualities, people still love it, long after it has ended. Rumiko's art and storytelling at it's best. And so, I give the conclusion that it is a must-read, even for you dark types. Everyone needs a little comedy in their life.
It's been almost two years since I finished reading this manga and I still love every chapter, character and especially Ranma and Akane ^_^ <3 A loveable series with crazy characters and an ending volume that makes you want to laugh and scream at the same time! Oh and if you're gonna read it, get ready for this particular scream: "RAAAAAAAAAAAAANMAAAAAAAAAAAAAA NOOOOOO BAAAAAKAAAA!!!!!!!" From Akane, yourself, and many others cheers,
This was actually the first manga I ever read! I still adore this series, five or so years later. It's alot of what I look for in a manga- it's light, funny, and the artwork doesn't make your eyes bleed. It's not to be taken too seriously, which is a really nice trait one can find in manga and anime.
