Ecchi: Yay or Nay?

Nay
what can a drawing do to raise my interest?
also, most ecchi is pointless, i don't want to see it again.
however, ecchi placement and follow up at hoshi no samidare is very good. its funny!
grammar mistake is intentional, grammar nazis need their entertainment.
Yay, but to a point. I don't like it when it is excessive. A little bit here and there is fine.
I prefer more hardcore stuff though instead of just cleavage shots and panty flashes. If you're gonna put in something pervy, go all out I say.

If there's an actual point to the ecchi... whether that be humor, making a point of how sexy the person is (perhaps it's relevant to the plot or the characters' relationships), or how perverted another character is... then sure. I don't care.
But if it's ecchi just for the sake of ecchi, then I'd rather just be watching porn.

Yay!
I read series with and without it. I like ecchi and smut when I'm in the mood for such things. I love seeing hot bodies of both genders. As a straight female, I honestly wish there were more hot dudes in some of these fanservice ones. I get that they are for a target audience, like Freezing, which I really like. The only thing is that, these total babes with badass fighting power, have to deal with these man-child partners who I mistake for girls half the time. I am pretty new to manga so idk what is out there, but something with a little more for both genders would be nice?
But whatever, I still like it. Fanservice is great; the female body can be hot as the male body. For chicks I like panty shots and cleavage well enough. For dudes, go big or go home (ha). Nudity and beyond!
Nay. I would go for hentai if i'm in the mood to read those stuffs. Panty shots are useless. Though I wouldn't mind some ecchiness if the story is interesting. Putting together harem, romance, ecchi on the same line... No.

If there's no point to the ecchiness, I hate it because I find it very distracting to the plot. It always takes me out of the action going on because I start thinking about how unrealistic it is that there's always wind to blow the girls skirts up or somehow the girls always end up losing their clothing. I don't mind it when there's a point, like the girl is trying to seduce the guy, or something.
Also, as a girl I find the pointless ecchi kinda degrading to women. For some reason, it offends me more than ecchi with a purpose, and even some hentai. It makes it seem like even if women are strong and smart, at the end of the day women are only around to be sex-objects.

Nay, perhaps? I find it a waste of space...
Reach for the hentai / borderline-h instead.

I'm female and Ecchi is like fan service for males.
The unrealistic boobs annoy me and I hate over pervy-ness
to me just a spice of general pervetness in a story is good
ecchi over does it
smut i barely like--> only read I few here and there and if it's too much no
i prefer mature shoujoI used to read SEKIREI but I stopped just because of the unrealistic boob size and the characters clothes always come off^^
Do guys really like this stuff? sheesh
+1
I can't speak for others, but I'm a guy and I don't like ecchi (or fan-service in general -- chainmaille bikini trope).
Why is it so hard to draw females with normal clothes (and have them keep them on)?
So a big NAY.

I'm asking myself the same thing. D: I understand that ecchi is made only for showing panties and boobs (I know, ecchi anime and mangas have a plot, beyond the fanservice e.e''), but I don't know why female characters are always shown in all categories of mangas with sexy clothes and mini-mini-shorts/skirts. D: Even in Shoujo mangas. XD
However... If there's a good plot, I also can watch with no problems an ecchi anime, or read an ecchi manga. 😀 I would prefer that, one day, ecchi mangas could be for both genders, with hot girls and hot boys, I think it could be correct. 😀
For me is a YAY. 😀
Don't try to eat my mangas or steal my cats! e.e I smoke unicorns. D: And I have no fear to do it. -.-

Why is it so hard for characters go on killing sprees in romance/school life?
Why is it so hard to go on a space adventure in slice of life?
Why is it so hard for characters to be serious in comedy?
Because obviously, it would go against what the genre is about. DERP!
I don't mind people disliking ecchi...but please, stop it with these stupid questions.
Don't like it? Don't read it. Don't complain about it.

I have nothing against ecchi, I said it. 😀 The question, for me and for the others that asked that sentence, I think was: why in EVERY manga the girls cannot be represented with normal clothes?". 😀
Ecchi is ecchi, is made to have sexy characters. XD
