Minato is a total loser. He's failed to make it into college twice, he's unpopular with women, and he's unemployed. Talk about classic-useless-shounen-harem-male-lead...
But wait! There's more--he's actually an Ashikabi--one of a mysterious set of "masters" in an awesome battle royale between hordes of cute girls called "Sekirei." Since this is an ecchi manga, with their attacks they often happen to...you guessed it--ripping each others' clothes off! Looks like his luck's taken a turn for the better ^^.
Featuring absurdly hot artwork full of exploding boobage and catfighting action, this is one of K-manga's ecchiest projects yet!! Enjoy!!

This manga has the most beautiful drawings i have ever seen for a manga. Well, that's just my opinion anyway. But as many others have said, don't judge the manga by its cover (or by the boobs).
The story is very very interesting, solid and quite unique. Surprisingly, the story and events have deep meaning with a lot of heartwarming moments. The characters are loveable, the main guy may seem like a wuss but he isn't and can be very brave even when he knows he might die, and he isn't cocky, or angsty. ALL the females are like A-list models and are the most beautiful i have ever seen in a manga, while loli characters like Ku-chan is the cutest character i have ever seen!
It may seem too fast for the heroines to fall for the guy, but we can't compare the Sekireis to normal humans; its genetic, they have good instincts to really know their most suitable partner. And they really really care for each other, which is very nice and heartwarming.
There is a lot of nudity and ecchi, but they never go over the line. The author/illustrator is a woman, so there's some control. To be honest, at first i thought their boobs were way too big and i wished they were more normal-sized, but as it went on i don't mind anymore. As someone have commented, the fan service are never distasteful, and the fights are great and not too long.
Overall a highly recommended manga. NEED MOOOAAARR!!

| The ecchi at times can be a handful (and sometimes I wish for less of it) but it doesn't bother you too much. It has a good mix of comedy and drama, as well as an interesting story that makes you want to keep reading. The art is something too. I hope someday that Sekirei gets licensed because I want this series.^__^ |

I began reading a chapter or two a few months back and was like wooow sad excuse for fan service and stopped. But then i got bored and went back to read this and man i missed these past months. The characters are great, fun, well thought out, and they're obviously the hottest girls you'd ever meet in life or heaven aha. The protagonist is great because he isn't too cocky or too pussy. He protects his girls when they need to and he lets them fight when they need to. The story is really nice and thought out. i haven't read all of it yet so i cannot say much, but this is a great story so far. Artwork is great as well with beautiful characters and drawings. The fan service in this manga isn't distasteful and when it happens i was never like "what?!! just why did she get naked?". It was more like "wow this fight is intense", or "what's going to happen to them". The fights or the conversations that go on when the ecchi moments come up are so interesting sometimes you don't pay attention (though it doesn't hurt to stare).
All in all don't judge a manga by the boobs...i mean by its cover. this may appear as a meaningless fan service manga at first but it has strong plot points and good character development. It's so much more and is simply a great manga. I'd recommend this manga to any one i know. So since you are reading these comments of mine, read this manga as well, I'm sure you'll love it!
...If only there was a 11/10 option

Yes the girls are awesome, but I actually like the protagonist of this series. His overreactions become mitigated as the series goes on and he's not annoyingly didactic either.
One thing that I'm thankful for is that he allows his Sekirei to actually fight. I swear if I see one more "protect the girl / girls shouldn't do that" protagonists I'll... probably just be very annoyed. (HSD Kenichi, Maken-Ki, Nagasarete Airantou, R+V, etc.)
For the most part he's not pessimistic either. He's humble, does the laundry, cries, etc. A nice change of pace from the usual testosterone contests of lead characters. Ah, and he occasionally looks like L, which is also nice.

There are a lot archetypal harem features to this work, but there's a lot to love as well. An intriguing plot that seems to get more and more intricate, compelling characters (well, some of them), bitter rivalries, and dark history. Its been done before, but this stands out from others.
As others have mentioned, there is MAJOR fanservice, if that's what you're after. And...Kusano is sooooo cute! She makes me feel all fuzzy inside.

Wow, huge fan service. I love this manga. There are some manga that lose quality even though it has lots of fan service. But this manga has a good art and story which makes it great/nice/the bomb/etc. There are character development in this manga too. Man, I want to participate and become an Ashikabi!!!! What's Ashikabi? Find out by reading this manga! It's good.

In the first volume, I didn't much like Sekirei but as I went on, I started getting hooked. The girls are somewhat cliches but at the same time I really enjoy reading about the huge cast of characters. I can't get over Ku chan and Tsukiumi, they're so cute. :x

At first sigth all I saw was the big boobs and the excellent art work (hey nothing wrong with that  ) But after getting used to the enormous sized boobs, I was really sucked into the story. The story is really intressting, and Im glad that i keept on reading it.
If you manege to see past the enormous boobs, you ll find a good overall manga that is definitely worth reading. And if you are a ecchi or a big boob fan then this manga is a must.

Is it just me or this is looking a bit like Claymore now? Only there's less action and a bit more fanservice. I only stuck around because of the sexy girls but now I want to know what's going on really.
Anyway, it's a fun read. It's a bit silly on some parts especially the early chapters but it develops well as it goes on. |

In the beginning the artwork and the ecchiness got me hook to read this manga. After awhile they add more girls and it becomes quite a mess. I guess this manga is just fanservice since i`m not excited to read the next available scanlation.
