There was a certain Josei (I think it was at least due to the plot) which I just recently remembered and maybe someone has an idea what the name was. I had eagerly read it back then but then forgot about it.
As for the plot, it's about a tomboyish girl and her best friend entering university where the girl wants to start over her life. She tries to be more feminine, but her best friend keeps pulling her down and downplaying her feminity, which depresses her and she tries to find other friends. She falls in love with a very popular good looking guy and kind of befriends a very beautiful girl with black hair. The guy she likes is a crossdresser however and he loves to imitate the beautiful girl. The beautiful girl, however, is tired of men going after sex and sees in the 'masculine' protagonist the ideal man with 'good intentions'. She hates to see her become more feminine.
