I'm a little bit confused.. Is this poll about how many languages you fluently, or at least average, can talk at? Or is it ok if you just know some basic words about that language..

bah. i tried understanding subs that i thought were spanish once, and got a "damnit-i-get-most-of-the-meaning-but-somethings-wrong-here" headache.
appearently it was portuguese.
i got spanish from dramas like "chiquititas" "rebelde way" and "floricienta" (go chris morena) so others give me headaches.

The mainly diferençe is that spanish uses more ~ than portuguese and sometimes the spanish J sounds like R or I.

It sounds like the H from english it is that in portuguese H has no sound so I usualy say R, I mean like in Júlio which is read H/Rúlio, but I believe that spanish from Spain is a bit diferent than the one from Argentina. You would probably understant the speaking of the true Gaúcho, since their portuguese sound like spanish, but if you find someone from Santa Catarina don't even try... Not even the rest of us Basilian can understand them properly... 🤣

Sad but mostly true. 😔
Not entirely our fault, since most school systems don't offer languages other than English until jr. high or high school, and even then there are often only 1-2 to choose from. Depending on where you live there may be other places to learn a language (private lessons, etc.) but a lot of places that's not available either.
I know English, a little bit of Latin from the semester I took in college, and tiny bits & pieces of French, Spanish, & German. I'm trying to learn Japanese, but it's a long, slow process. Learn 'em while you're young, it's a lot harder when you get older. 🤢

I'm more on the 2.7 side (wtf..)
Let's see... I'm fluent in English and Tagalog... that's 2...
And know a LOT in Spanish, although not completely fluent... that's like 0.6
and basic Japanese and Italian and very few words in French, German, and Cantonese... 0.1
.>
I freaking sound like a big dork.
oh and my spanish teachers nailed in my head the fact that the 'j' in spanish sounds like 'h' and nothing else, so that confused me right there.
This is in spanish when you are not looking.

It's different in every country..
I don't know if it's true, but my economics teacher from last year, sometimes commented on the less developed educational level of public schools in America.. But he also said that the private schools did have a high level..
Correct me, if I'm wrong..
