For me, the change in the art has a lot to do with why this series is losing me. It's so "pretty pretty" now, but it feels really flat - like some kind of pretty filagree scrollwork, all on the surface. It's not like a drawing of things and people moving in three-dimensional space. I can't tell what's supposed to be in the foreground and what's supposed to be in the background.

What's worse, I feel like lately, all of the characters look the same (like pretty, pretty, little girls with baby-doll eyelashes). I have to look at the hairstyles to figure out who's who. In the panels with Alma and Alan fighting, I keep having to check which character has the scar and the arm tattoos. Otherwise, I wouldn't know which one was Alan.

This last battle has been awfully confusing. It has a huge cast of characters, a lot of things going on (I've still got no clue what Bak is doing), and it keeps breaking away to flashbacks and imaginary meetings. It would be a very hard story arc to follow even without the new art.

So right now, I think the story might still be good, but it is too hard for me to follow what's going on, or to remember the complicated layout of the current fight in the long time between releases.

I think people will put in an effort to understand a series, if it's good --- but if you push it too far, they just get frustrated, and they disengage. That's what's happened with me, anyway.

I might drop this series after chapter 200 ><.

ugh- I really don't like the change in the art..art changes either make the manga better or worse.. KHR changed for the better while DGM did not. I'm slowly forgetting this series..and I really used to enjoy this series. Waiting once a month makes me forget many things
I hope something interesting happens in DGM or at least the art goes back to the old style =_=

Then I just stopped for a while and didn't come back. heh
I do wish sometimes that all those long series would end already.
Then I can just read them when I feel like it,
without having to worry about the next cliffhanger.
Or to just put it off indefinitely, you know. 🤣
