Learned/understood sign language after years of not having any language, then also learned how to speak, try doing that when you are deaf and blind!

Definitally Jesus...even if you're not a Christian, the teachings of Jesus and the religion that sprang from it has permeated practically every aspect of life in some form or another.
second place would have to go to either Dickens or Tolkien. I mean, Dickens was an amazing writer, but not only did Tolkien create his own totally awsome world, but a language to go with it...since I'm in a "fantasy" mood right now, probably have to go with Tolkien, but it probably changes from hour to hour.

Woah, never heard of that.
She wasn't born with both handicaps.
But she did lose her sight and hearing at a very, very young age.
So that in itself is very cool. 😃
