The way the conspiracy answer was worded it sounds like the answer meant this whole even was staged. I wouldn't go that far, it's probably a real event, but I wouldn't be surprised if the corrupt US government didn't try to use some event like this as a stepping stone to eventually controlling the internet. Our government has been pushing all kinds of crap lately, most of which you won't hear about most from the mainstream media.

Such as this:

Quote from http://d0x.com/imminent-infringement-thought-crime-torrent-becomes-first-illegal-keyword.html

“It also implements an interesting provision called “imminent infringement”, which allows the government to charge people who they think might be about to infringe with a civil offense (for example if you searched “torrent daft punk”). This is among the first official “thought crime” provisions to be proposed by the U.S. government.”

Essentially, if you ever do a search for music or movies on Google with the keyword “torrent” as part of your query, you can be found liable of a civil offense, even if you don’t actually download any pirated material. Yeah, yeah, why would anybody search for “torrent daft punk” if they did not have the intention of downloading it illegally. Who knows, but that is not the point. The point is that no crime was ever actually committed. Period.

Basically in order to push something in the open our government first needs public support. Could you imagine if they tried to push the patriot act in a time of peace? The people would not accept it - but if we're 'attacked' first they'll swallow it in the name of safety.

The formula is simple. If they want to go to war, we'll be attacked. If they want to push gun control, you'll hear about a school shooting.

This is a tragedy but don't let the opportunistic bastards in power use a tragedy to take away our freedoms. Say no to any internet legislation.

No. Why would a 7 year old girl be on Facebook anyways?

In my opinion, it's just B.S. that the couple are sorry for harassing the girl... She's dying, and they harass her? There's no way anyone would be sorry for that if they had the balls to post it. .-.

They only said sorry 'cause the media was involved. Words are one thing, but everyone knows they felt no remorse for their idiotic and immature actions.

I hardly think any government can control the internet, even China thinks they can. Shrug but bullying and irresponsibility is something that should be looked into. Bullying (including cyberbullying) is wrong and yes there is a lot of debate between freedom to post, free speech etc vs policing of some sort , its great to have freedom, unfortunately, that requires the user to be responsible.. and there are enough irresponsible people around.

There are definitely people who are "NOT NICE" in real life but its rare (of course in this case, this couple had balls) for them to come up to a person and diss them. But online, where everyone can be "hidden" and anonymous, its easy to avoid all kinds of responsibility under the guise of freedom of speech.

Well this is what I think:

This world is stressing as HELL, and normal humans need places to vent or things will go SOUTH fast, I work in the service department, I deal with people, and stress only makes them more irrational than a rock.

Internet is the only safe place to vent our emotions, we can't go and break random stuff in real life, and lets not talk about punching random people in the face, the internet is the best thing that has happened to our generation, (our LONG peace is thanks to Nukes because of their menace, and the internet because you can't start a conflict without 90% of the world knowing) and should be kept that way.

Cyberbulling is just a side effect of the people attempt to bring their social life to the internet (Facebook, etc),and in my opinion shouldn't had happened.

No one needs to be more responsible, no one needs to hold back, everyone needs to imagine every fucking internet jerk is a punny emo kid, and things would be fine, we don't need the government to watch what we read or who wrote what, there are FAR more important things to be done.
