This week's poll was suggested almost 10 years ago by a member named xombiemonkey. How long ago did you start reading manga?

You can submit poll ideas here
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=3903

Previous Poll Results:
Question: If you already had the necessary skills (i.e. translate, Photoshop, etc), would you will be willing to do scanlations?
Choices:
Already do - votes: 304 (7%)
Sure, I'd be pretty active - votes: 984 (22.5%)
Yes, but only occasionally - votes: 1980 (45.3%)
No, don't have free time - votes: 751 (17.2%)
Nope, just don't want to - votes: 354 (8.1%)
There were 4373 total votes.
The poll ended: October 6th 2017

Many people appear to be willing, so just need to get those skills

Been reading manga since before I knew it was called manga (sometime in the 80:s) though only one or two. Read some Dragonball 15-20 (think it was 2000-ish) or so years ago when they started releasing them here(Sweden).
Started reading again 6-7 years ago. Oldest downloaded manga I got is from august 2012. It's FLCL. Read a couple of thousand since then...

Probably around about 10 years. I believe I started when I was 15. I've been registered on this site for 9 years...

I remember reading everything on onemanga. The good ol' days.

I had to make a guess for manga specifically. 16 years sounds about right. It would be over 20 for comics in general and anime.

I turned 29 this summer and I was turned on to manga because in third grade (When I was 9? I think?) some guys in my class had Dragonball mangas and I instantly fell in love. You know that feeling when you discover something that you never even conceived could exist and it hooks on the spot? That was it for me.

This poll made me realize I've been a member of this site for over 10!! years; I joined probably a year after I started reading manga, so I'd say I've been reading for 11 years.

Thanks for keeping this website up and running for so long; I'm sure its a lot of work, especially with all the bots that are going on right now. I don't really post anymore, but I definitely use the list feature everyday to keep track of when everything I'm reading is updated.

Its also funny because I used to chat with xombiemonkey all the time, but I don't think hes used this site for awhile.

I feel so old! I've been a part of this site for 10 years, and have read for a year before that (not counting when I grew up watching anime as cartoons on TV). I can't believe how long it has been, and MU remains my computer homepage to this day.

Hmm, it took about 10 years to read everything good scanlated. Had to live a life too ^^. These days I pretty much moved on to novels but I still keep an eye out for new stuff that gets recommended. Latest "manga" I checked out was The gamer.

15 years for me. Read my first manga when I was 11.
I remember thinking back when I was 15 that I couldn't possibly still be into manga in my 20s. Well, I'm still here.

Around 7 or 8 years. I had been into anime on and off since childhood, but it wasn't until I was about 20 or 21 that I started reading manga. I guess that's fairly late compared to most people on this site.

13 years!

I started with Hana Yori Dango, and I found it in a public library. I was so confused since it wasn't colored like american comics. And here I am now. lol

I've been reading manga (started with Doraemon) since I was 8 so it has been 15 years. Man, that's more than half of my life already.

Think it is since around 2003. Wasn't a lot of manga or anime available here before I went online for it.

Minimum of 11 years since my account on this site is that young.
