But everybody found it disgusting, I think that was actually the point of it all. I don't think the movie's message was "oh yeah, he definitely deserved it".
For people to talk about that photographer man about how he did or did not deserve it in relation to his crime is what the movie was all about. I think the director wanted to illicit feelings and conversations from the audience. He wanted people to think and double think who they are siding with as we found out more about the photographer.

I think Space Balls was underrated. I think it was PG and I saw it when I was in 5th grade and I thought it was so innappropriate. I saw it again recently and it wasnt so bad though. must be a 5th grade thing.

Six-String Samurai something about the guitar-playing, sword-swinging hero made me smile.

I agree. I watched that movie in class and I absolutely loved it. Such sweet-looking old ladies, yet so scary...
I mean, I can't believe how they lured old people and poisoned them.

My choice is Idiocracy.
It showed how this world might end up in the future and how everyone should do everything they can to avoid it.

Really? I thought she did it too. I can't really remember the movie though, all I know is after I saw it I banned my sisters from watching it.
I'd have to say Petrified Forest. I've yet to find someone else who has seen it to talk about it to.

The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, and The Bourne Ultimatum.
Some of the awesomest movies (aside from 300), and hardly anyone knows about them.
I know about them <3 And I second that.

Hard Candy was great but basically everything by Alejandro Jodorowsky. I mean El topo was fantastic and I bet no one has a damn clue what I am talking about.

The original Star Wars trilogy, at least in my generation. A lot of people I know say they don't like Star Wars, but they've never seen ANY of the original, amazing 3.
Serenity. I know it has a pretty good and loyal fanbase, but not enough people realize how good a movie it is.

I have no idea what's underrated or overrated because that doesn't tend to be something I talk about a lot. From my immediate community, though, there's a few movies that I've seen that I felt should have been praised more.
The Prestige: Completely badass. I haven't heard much of this movie outside of the friends, and honestly, I think it deserves to be talked about more. Of course, it could be on that list that was mentioned before, and if it is, then forget I even mentioned it.
Superman Returns: I honestly thought it was a very good movie. However, from what I can tell, it was severely bashed. I don't understand why. That was vintage Superman. Maybe that was the problem. It was so old-fashioned that maybe the newer generation thought it sucked.
V for Vendetta: Among my friends, it was a great movie. However, outside of my friends, people were bashing the movie. Another one that made me say, "Are you serious?" That was a great movie, and not because I think it bashes the Bush administration (which it doesn't since the story was made long before Bush was president), but because the story was so compelling. I think the younger generation was expecting a mindless action film. That may be why those people didn't like it.
I can think of some movies which imo were great but which people I've talked to didn't like/didn't know of...at least where I live:
Happiness
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
Requiem for a dream
Very bad things
The game
Strange Days
Equilibrium
The hours
To see everything from the perspective of eternity
