Though i listen to mostly Japanese music some of my favorite english bands are Daft Punk and Linkin Park

Gaddamn it. I'm so old that I've never even heard of most of these. My fav band of all time would be Led Zeppelin, but it's close to my love for the Doors.

im into a lot of music, but lately im addicted to japanese punk/ska bands. japs are freaking awesome in punkska genre! my fave j-ska punk bands: kemuri, potshot, snail ramp and beat crusaders (the band that plays Beck in the anime)

If you are looking for metal with an opera sound I should be able to get you started.

First of all, try to listen to listen to bands like Nightwish, Visions of Atlantis, within temptation, nemesea and similar bands.

You could also listen to some doom/gothic metal bands. My suggestions are Theatre of Tragedy, The sins of thy beloved, Sirenia, Tristania, leaves' eyes and maybe Therion.
