I guess it was silly expecting realism when reading shounen harems. Junpei had his shining moments, but as character growth is concerned, his growth was lagging behind his emotional confusion.

I agree completely. I think they really overrate Inoue in the later chapters. How I hate that girl.

Also the mushroom boy in Gamble Fish, though it's not a very popular manga.

How about Kenichi from HSDK, even though he is pretty damn strong now, initially he belongs in the loser category keeps getting bullied even by some of the weaker guys.

Oh and there's this dude from The Legend of Maian he's a loser too, he's such a loser that i even forgot his name 😀 and if you've read some of Im Dal Young work, some if not all of the protagonists in his manwha belong in that category as well. 😎

Honestly, i don't mind them being a loser just as long as the character keeps on growing and improving as the story go along, i like the feeling of the weak overcoming obstacle or something and becoming strong, pretty much like Kenichi 😃

Anyways, some shounen losers I would have to say is the shota sidekick from Ichiban Ushiro No Daimaou, he just so freakin' annoying in both the novel and the anime.

Everybody besides Joukyuu from AIKI. Especially Bull-kun, he's supposed to be a gang leader, but he is just so pathetic, LOL!
