The only way that those observations could seem valid is if you just stereotyped the characters based on the first 10 chapters and then ignored the rest of the manga.

Besides, those issues have nothing to do with whether you like Yakumo or Eri as a couple with Harima. To do that, you would need to discuss the interactions, rather than the characters themselves.

Since this is a romantic comedy, there are two elements that are important in any pairing - humor and intensity of feeling. Regardless of what you think of their individual personalities, Eri and Harima's interactions satisfy both requirements better than any other pair of characters. That's what makes the pairing so much more popular.

I don't really have a favorite couple; I'm just kinda waiting to see who'll turn out with who 🤣 but the "ones I kinda like more than others" would be Harima x Eri and Harima x Yakumo 😃 So I'm not sure which I'll vote for...

@Krnfate--->You're pretty much right about Eri (I've only read up to the fifth volume, mavnent), but I think that Harima x Eri is still a good couple 😃

It's easy to fall into the trap, but if you keep your eyes open, you should already start to see signs that neither character is quite as straightforward as that.

Eri's character should be just starting to come into the focus of the story in volume 5. She'll be the central character from volume 6 and onwards, so you still have a long way to go before you really get to know her character - her character develops quite a bit over time. 😉

I don't rly care about who pairs with who expect I don't ever want to see Harima x Tenma.

ErixHarima fan here, I really like Yakumo but Eri just seems to be a lot more fun.

Although the manga began its focus on Tenma, by the second chapter I was seriously addicted to School Rumble. The absolute hilarity of mixing up Harima's name with "Harry Mackenzie" (they sound quite similar!), I couldn't stop laughing. Even now I smile as I reminisce...

But anyway. The story has a nice touch of irony to it that completes the manga's genre as a romantic comedy (e.g. Eri in love with Harima, Karasuma oblivious to Tenma as Tenma is oblivious to Harima, etc.). Choosing my favorite couple was a difficult one and, as many before me have mentioned, my struggle is between Eri x Harima and Yakumo x Harima. I felt the author is playing this out exceptionally well, keeping the fire kindled somewhat evenly on both sides. However, I voted for Eri not only because I could only vote once, but also because she tries for it harder. I feel that hard work should be rewarded, in spite of Yakumo holding back because of the nice person she is. In reality, Yakumo is my favorite character in the series, seconded only by Harima himself, but Yakumo is too nice to sustain a relationship with Harima even though he has feelings for Tenma and that Eri has feelings for him. Until Yakumo becomes more agressive, the Eri x Harima side seems to "deserve" it more (IMO).

And BTW, both Yakumo and Eri have quite complex personalities. Obviously, since the beginning we knew that Yakumo was complex, but Eri's is continuously showing that she has more to her than just being a "rich girl". Something that even Harima noticed! 😲 On the other hand, Tenma has no complexity at all (very nice, very blunt, very dense) and because of this, I cannot quite seem to enjoy her character as much, let alone be a main protagonist. She provides comic relief, but I cannot come to respect her bubbly-dense-happy-go-lucky personality unfortunately... 😐

Ican't decide between Yakumo x Harima or Eri x Harima. If possible Yakumo x Harima x Eri 🙂 , of course that's not possible. I like Yakumo out of all the girls and Eri second. Tenma is not even close and is in another world.

Since when? I thought that Eri x Harima won the only pairing poll. Yakumo won the most recent character poll in Japan, though, so maybe you're mixing the two up.
