If it's about aircraft:

  • Anuki - It's manhwa, but I think it works. There is some air combat, I think.

  • Alto

MIYAZAKI Hayao did a bunch of movies with flight.
Porco is one of his films too, if I'm not mistaken.

Howl's Moving Castle air fights.
Kaze no Tani no Nausicaä
Castle In The Sky

Definitely check out Kabu no Isaki. It's by the author of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, and it's got the same sort of feel while being completely about flying airplanes.ASHINANO Hitoshi loves planes and actually started out his training with them. Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou has a lot of aircraft-related bits, too, but Kabu no Isaki is where he really showed off his love.

I read a work of miyazaky of short war stories that had animals as protagonist, this is where Porco Rosso was born as anime, sadly it dosent have a manga of its own 🙁

I did read Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou liked a lot the story tell and the feeling of love for air planes so Kabu no Isaki looks very promising :3

pd: checking out ww2 mangas i found Love Letter (SEO Kouji) from the creator of suzuka looks like a pilot in the cover so must have some plane stuff 😛
TK a lot!
