And how many people saw the truth about his mother coming a mile away? Come on be honest, it was everyone right?

Pretty much, it's a shame when a story becomes way to predictable.

There was nothing to "see coming." It was pretty much an already established fact by now. At this point, I was almost suprised that Kubo had the audacity of using it as a supposedly dramatic reveal of any kind and ending the chapter at that point, instead of just going on with the actual details.

But no, we had to have a dramatic pause for the dramatic reveal, not matter what.

Yep, called it a while ago. Just can't remember from which chapter I started suspecting it.

I think it was fine that he ended it on a dramatic reveal. They never definitively state that she was a quincy. They hint at it but never come out and say that she is.

Yes, now we get to find out how Isshin became human, how he had kids, and how his wife, a Quincy strong enough to kill a Hollow that gave a Captain of the Gotei 13 trouble, was killed by kingfisher.

I want to see how those things are going to pan out. Of course I still would like to know why people like Yamamoto get old, while people like Unohana don't seem to age at all. And why the guy who "invented" the zanpakuto is way younger looking than lots of older Shinigami.

I think it's time, after 12 years, to Finish the dang thing.

Of course, I'm still waiting for Shirow Masamune to finish Appleseed, , for Kohta Hirano to finish Hellsing: Dawn, and of course, for Kentaro Miura to finish Berserk, which started in 1990, when I was in ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

no surprise here.
As for the mother been killed by a kingfisher, maybe she lost her power (or they were taken back) when qincy found out that she was pregnant with a shinigami.

Maybe a quincies powers pass on when they give birth. That would explain why almost all of the quincies shown have been male. Also I wonder if ishida is related to ichigo.

I agree with most of you guys, the whole your mom is a quincy thing was foreshadowed a while ago.
I just wonder, what if the S.S. found out about their relationship and sent Soul Reapers to kill her under the guise of a Hollow attack.

How would Grand fisher fit into that theory? Seeins as both Ichigo and Isshin clearly identified him being the one who killed Masaki. It's been a while since I've read the early chapters, but I'm pretty sure Grand fisher even taunted Ichigo about it back when they clashed.

Sure, SS has enough dirt on it to make something like that plausible in the sense that they would be capable of such skullduggery, but it just doesn't fit with what has been shown and said up to now.

I don't think there would be any kind of "Grand Fisher" conspiracy. Though, now a question should be, what exactly IS Isshin? He was a Captain, but there never seems to be any kind of history from the viewpoint of other people. I would assume he had a different kind of surname as a shinigami, and that he had some level of big reputation, being a captain.

Now, I am thinking back to when they got launched out of Shiba Kuukaku's cannon, ganju mentioned something about "uncle not being happy" about sending Ichigo to the royal palace, though that could have just been a reference to any older guy. But, what if the reason that Ichigo bears a resemblance to Shiba Kaien is because his father is related to that family?

But getting back to Isshin, what is he? How was he able to live as a human, and have children? Some special gigai that Urahara developed?

Isshin also mentions, according to the mangastream translation, that Ichigo isn't really a Shinigami, but he's not a "mere human" either. So did he just "borrow" shinigami powers? Everyone else seemed pretty sure he was one. He had a zanpakuto, complete with a spirit, a ban kai, and even the Final Getsuga, which would seem to be an attack that Isshin can also do with his Engetsu.

So, I am curious as to how this all turns out, and also why Juha Bach referred to Ichigo as his son.

I would not be surprised if Ichigo's mother's powers somehow transferred to him or one of the girls at their births leaving her without powers. Or she did what Ishida did back in the Soul Society arc and burned away her powers.

It is quite possible that Isshin is related to Ganju becasue did Masaki not introduce herself to Isshin as Kurosaki, meaning that Ichigo and Isshin took Masaki's last name? I wouldn't be surprised if Isshin was not an old captain of the 6th or the 10th.
