Quote from switchgear

I would not be surprised if Ichigo's mother's powers somehow transferred to him or one of the girls at their births leaving her without powers. Or she did what Ishida did back in the Soul Society arc and burned away her powers.

It is quite possible that Isshin is related to Ganju becasue did Masaki ...

Ahhh, I had missed that in the first read...so maybe Isshin is a Shiba, eh?
Interesting.
And wait, Ichigo's boss saw the badge, wasn't that badge supposed to be invisible to normal humans?
As for why Juha Bach referred to Ichigo as 'son' maybe he was Masaki's dad?

"now we get to find out how Isshin became human, how he had kids, and how his wife, a Quincy strong enough to kill a Hollow that gave a Captain of the Gotei 13 trouble, was killed by kingfisher."

I like the idea of Isshin being a Shiba...

Also way back in the Save Rukia or whatever Arc it was said that the Shibas were a great shinigami family that had fallen out of favor (It was probably Byakuya taunting Yoruichi about her family's status)
So it is quite possible that Isshin was a Captian of the Gotei 13 and came from the Shiba family...

I don't really see how a Quincy's power would be transferred at birth. I would wager it would be something more to the effect that she lost her powers, maybe as punishment, or she had to voluntarily agree to give them up to leave the organization.

Also that would follow that only one of her children would be able to inherit spiritual power, while clearly 2 did.

Of course, right now I'm wondering why they even bothered bringing Ichigo into the royal palace if they were just going to kick him out. It's pretty certain that they know exactly who and what he is, and that him not being accepted by the asauchi was expected. So, why bring him in? They made some mention that the spirit king himself was interested in Ichigo, so wouldn't it be kind of bad for one of the Zero Division to kick him out?

Well, why was the family disgraced? The Shiba family obviously has a history of members with very high spiritual power and skill. However, a Captain from that family running off with a Quincy definitely sounds like something that would cause quite a bit of an issue.

Him being half Quincy would explain his constant power ups? Maybe he's taking in Natural Reiatsu at a higher level then a regular Quincy? Also, maybe if he's not simply a "mere human" there could be something else. I wonder if my demon/devil theory will hold up? But Masaki did say Quincy so, never mind. Another thing: Is there a reason Isshin let his son ALMOST die several times? Did he not intervene or teach him anything "knowing" he would always survive for a particular reason(s)?

I've also wondered, what happened to the quincy's that died? Don't people go to soul society when they die? They showed all of the Fullbringers over at the Shiba place, so where did the Quincy people go?

Heck at present I still can't tell whether people in soul society actually have kids. Do they all just adopt?
