Another small gripe i have is that, now that the background is darker, the mascot's gif edge is not anti-aliased, it look a bit jarred.

I tried to edit the current one, but it would be better to work on the original image.

I really hope you guys allow the option to maintain the current site UI. "Modernization" redesigns on websites that have a solid time proven design are often a complete nightmare and downgrade.
