Was it seriously just me who thought watchmen was horrendously mediocre? really? anyhow
Best graphic novel movie = Road to Perdition based on Road to perdition which is loosely based on lone wolf and cub. that movie was money.
I feel bad giving road to perdition credit as a good movie though, because the art in the comic was so so so very good. guy spent 4 years of his life on it, and its filmed in like a month... 😔

@cannon
A whole lot of the scenes did not translate well at all from strip to film.

fair as this may be, i see no reason to let the fact that it used real people well detract from the movie
Can't read >_<

300 and Watchmen were very close for me, but I went with Watchmen because I have actually read that one, and it left a deep impression on me.
I didn't realize that From Hell was a graphic novel -- that movie was terrible.

I guess it's just a difference of opinion, because they looked pretty well-translated to me.

Bad timing to bring up this thread right after the release of Watchmen. It'll be biased because of that. (Not to say Watchmen wouldn't have been first anyway, but it will take a huge lead because it's fresh.)
I voted for Sin City.
If you've ever thought or said "Nice Guys finish last" and really meant it, then you should probably read this LJ post by DivaLion. It's incredibly insightful whether you're male or female.

Yeah, I have to agree.
I also have to wonder how many of those that voted for Watchmen have actually read the graphic novel, and if they did, was it before the film adaptation was confirmed.
Either way, I voted for Watchmen. Snyder did make some mistakes, but for the most part I enjoyed the film and thought it was faithful enough, so I can ignore those mistakes. I'm holding back on my final opinion of the film until I watch the Director's Cut when its released on DVD.
I think there should've been more options on the list as well. It features that shoddy piece of shit League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and discludes the likes of Hellboy, the X-Men trilogy, Iron Man, and The Hulk. Bad move.

seriously who voted for wanted? obviously never read the source, completely unrelated except for 3/4 of an origin and 1/3 of a father subplot.
torn between watchmen and v for vendetta. the most accurate to source material(most important thing to me, outside of outright sucking)never read 300 so not sure on that one

I want to vote for watchmen, I really do, but I haven't seen the movie.
So v for vendetta it is.

Damn...I accidently voted Wanted instead of 300
Watchmen was good but..the ending was different and I didn't like how they skipped some parts from the graphic novel

wait whaaaat? v for vendetta was not accurate at all. I thought it was a bloddy brilliant film, but it changed the theme of the book largely. The main point of which is that V is a major hero in the movie, while the book presents him as morally gray, proposing anarchy which is almost as bad as the original government.

V for Vendetta all the way. I like the some of the others and it was a close call with 300 and Watchmen. From Hell was a good film but not read the novel so couldn't judge. In the end though V for Vendetta was just brilliant!

Those are all pretty over-rated movies....I think most of them are actually quite bad.......

yeah...movie like that and Fight Club are all fanatasies of immature adults. Apparently their way of dealing with life is either blow up stuff, create violence and chaos, or over throw the justice system.

v for vendetta, watchmen and 300 due to the fact that they stuck to their adult theme and iron man and batman the dark knight was brilliant heath ledger captured the joker's insanity perfectly. Spawn, Spiderman3 and superman returns were terrible. Kick-ass is coming out soon and i think it is going to be brilliant.

But in the process he lost his goofy side, which is a staple of the Joker's personality. That's why in my opinion Nicholson portrayed a better Joker.
Scott Pilgrim looks cool, although I've yet to read the comics...
