Tower of Druaga is good, and easy to get as it's being simultaneously released in Japan and on YouTube with subs. It is somewhat of a spoof on typical RPGs but at the same time has good characters, plot and animation.

You could be a little more specific, you know, mention some series you've seen before and enjoyed. Having no clue what you like, and what you have seen the best I can give you is a long list of completely random titles off of the top of my head.

all of these are animes. the anime only list are the animes that have no manga adaption. as for code geass, there is a manga adaption, but the anime came first. best anime ever. period.

Lesee, the anime I've been seeing lately might not really fit into your tastes so I don't have that much... and I might have weird tastes for what I like. Get ready....

-Shakugan no Shana
There's two seasons yet... the anime is kinda average. It has this romance subplot that I feel is executed pretty badly and drags on a lot in the beginning of the second season. The action scenes are quite cool though. Crazy flashes of light and everything.

-Tales of the Abyss
Well, this is based off a Tales game storyline so... it's pretty good for an anime adaptation. It's virtually the same as the game though.

-Kurenai
Some people hate this, some people like it. You're gonna have to see for yourself. Action and humorous at times.

-Tower of Druaga (Sword/Aegis) of Uruk
Two seasons. Pretty good. Based on the games. Done by Gonzo and is quite good. Some moments of humor mixed in with all the other good stuff.

-Lucky Star
Everyone should see this. Laugh out loud hilarious. Plus it's famous. You should know about this. Animation style is clear and brilliant. There's an OVA if you want more.

-The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi
The translated English novels are available online. The anime is great though. Retains the greatness of the novels. This is famous too. You should know about this. Haruhi-ism FTW.

-Ga-rei Zero
Tons of action. This is a prequel to the manga. Animation is pretty cool. Though you might get confused with the first episode and be wondering what the point of it was.

Now to butcher your current tastes...

-Minami-ke (Okawari, Okaeri)
3 seasons of this. This is just a total slice-of-life, humor only series. Animation is simple and clean. Having a sense of humor about stupid things would be helpful.

-Welcome to the NHK
Quite good. Makes you think about hikkikomori people. I don't really know what to say about this, just that it's pretty good.

-Toradora
This is a romance. Hopefully those words don't keep you away from this jewel though. It's a freaking AWESOME anime. This is pure genius and is going to remain one of my favorites for a long time.
