Fate/Stay Night

Not really the manga.

I wonder why?

It's not the best VN I've read.

Yet...

Just...something...

Who knows?

Hard to express with words.

Lacking the right adjective.

Perhaps, 'right'. Maybe 'true'.

Perfect manga... Hmmm...

It would have to have endearing characters, an in depth plot, The author needs to challenge their characters with moral decisions, an it should be open minded. Like throwing a gay couple in there, not really like the main character, but still included. There would have to be a psychological element in there. There should also be a worldly theme in there.

[sarcasm] Really not a lot to ask for, right? [/sarcasm] Sigh.

a shoujo with male lead. not that important.

complicated story, probably fantasy

good art. but that's not that important. but it can't be annoying like too shoujoish or messed anatomy. and I like detailed backgrounds and many pages of action without words. like this: http://www.mangafox.com/manga/takemitsu_zamurai/v08/c080/2.html
I like how some yaoi are drawn, like handsome guys (seme's, not girly ukes) and girls with normal eyes. so it could be drawn like a yaoi.

drama and comedy undertone.

if there are fights, they never use the names of the attacs. really, I hate that. what is so important at shouting kamehameha or kagebunshinblablabla. AND (this is important) realistic weapons. I think that's why I don't like action shounens. .)

romance, love triangle would be great, between the main boy, the girl with some backbone and another guy, and the other one has to win. he would be tsundere. if a villain, the better.

but the romance can't be the focus. the focus would be some complicated fantasy action twisted plot. a lot twisted. like you like or hate some character and then you would totaly change your mind. but at the end of the story, you have to like everybody. the end must be there, not some "and then they were going to a battle. find yourself who won".

I like the epic deaths. so every character who dies have to die epic. like some pages, with his/her past.

a LOT of characters. and their relationships. a BL and GL stories between...

long, but not too long 20-30 volumes.

and yeah, a pageturner.

I would say Harry Potter, but there were some deaths that I didn't like (only 2, but...) and I didn't like the epilog. oh, yeah, NO epilog. like after 10 years or so. and I know that this my perfect manga isn't that type, but I really hate it when a character goes to america. what's with that 😕

My perfect manga would probably be some sort of mix of slice of life, drama, psychological, BL would also be good. Id say realistic story where ppl go through stuff and learn about life and about themselves too.

The plot would be about relationships, romance, about life in general, slow-paced and probably pretty angsty too. Kind of like Nana/Paradise Kiss, Blood, Rules. It could even be fantasy/sci-fi but only if it actually had a good, "realistic" plot. Let's take Ai no Kusabi as an example. Also psychological stuff like Homunculus would be perfect.
The art would not be the typical kind of manga art. But more realistical(Vagabond, REAL, Kokou no HIto) where ppl actually look more normal and not everyone is a sparkling bishie type of guy. Also there would absolutely be no annoying shoujo girls with their big sparkly eyes or any horrible shoujo cliches. Yuuko from XXXHolic is one of the few female characters who I can say I actually like. So girls like that would be ok, Casca fromBerserk is another good example.

So I guess all the mangas I mentioned in this post are pretty much close to perfection to me. I want a manga that can make me both laugh and cry. Something I can somehow feel I can relate to. And above all a good plot with characters that have sum depth in them.

My perfect manga is more tragedy oriented.... I love anything that is heart-wrenching, really pulling me in. It just can't be depressing because I hate feeling depressed. >w>'''

I love anything with the right amount of bitter and sweetness. That way I still feel happy.
(ex: Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan and Kon no Ki Konoha....
Sahara Mizu is the the queen of bitter-sweet endings.)

I also like psychological/dark genres.
(ex: Coelacanth was great.)

Also Flowers of Evil was the best. ;w; It was so sad but in a good way. It was dark, but perfect.
Even though it was so tragic, I wouldn't have it any other way.
I have a soft spot for Lee Hyeon-Sook, because I am also in love with Savage Garden.
I just love the dark atmosphere. It is different from any other school-life, shoujo, gender-bender I have read. I am sick of the usual excessive and unnecessary cheeriness.

Even though I prefer the sad + tragic aspects, at the same time I do not like anything drastically heavy and dark (mature), because it is often too much for me. ):
My mind cannot handle explicit material.

my perfect manga (in the adventure genre) is Saiunkoku Monogatari well, scince there are only a few chapters, it is the anime. That ist the only story/etc.. where I get the feeling, that nothing could be better. ( I like other storys better (skip beat, Berserk, ....) but this one feels like it is perfect.

My perfect manga would be josei, psychological, drama, comedy, slice of life the main character would be a strong female lead (but not to strong where she doesnt let anyone in) she would be strong because of what she has been through (such as cheating, abuse, rape etc). The art style similar to ai yazawa and also it would be mature theme (like they have sex but not centered around it) there would be a jerk male lead and a good guy and she would have to choose. I would want an unexpected ending making me happy and sad at the same time its also should be a time skip going into detail about whats happening in their lives now. The romance should be realistic. The characters would be in there early 20s in university and the side characters would be a comic relief and all characters would have some depth. They would not only be interacting at school but alot of other places (hates school life). No over the top drama such as everyday there something new person trying to ruin them.

my perfect shounen manga would have

  1. a female character that is a bad ass, cold hearted, and doesnt care for anyone but the main character or a character that is dead or doesnt remember her
  2. a male character that is nice but really strong
  3. alot of action, murder, suspense, and love
  4. a good main story and story line
  5. side characters with alot of character, feeling, and importance
  6. it wouldnt be a manga where everyone will be together all the time. they would be characters together because of a situation, place, or forced to.
  7. there would have to be alot of tragety. sadness and other stuff. where like other side characters die, the main male character/ female main side ( the main would be a guy, but the 2nd main character would be a bad ass girl ) would go through traumatizing stuff that would practically kill people if it was anyone other than them, or just random deaths/ giving up themselves for other people/ worlds/ random depressing stuff
  8. it would be so awsome it would make me cry

those are just some of the things from my dream shounen manga. i already have something that sorta fits my requirements; Deadman Wonderland. 😀
i also really liked Ao no Futsumashi...

Not so much of a Perfect Manga, but something I would really like to see.

A seinen (non-emo) Devilman / Lady vs Guyver crossover, with an art style that is pretty much a composite of Go Nagai (Devilman Series / Mazinkaiser Skull), Yoshiki Takaya (Guyver), Tetsuo Hara (Cyber-Blue / HnK) and Oh! Great (Tenjou Tenge / Majin Devil).

Even though the Guyver series is said to have been inspired by Devilman, I have always imagined it being pretty easy to make such a crossover appear almost canon, depending on the author's ability.

In addition, it would go a long way to explain the following:

•The origins of humanity in the Devilman series and how that would fit into how humanity was created in Guyver, while the demons were in hibernation.
•What happened to the Devilman army after the battle at the end of the first manga series, if they were brought back to life like Akira was then did they become full demons or were they fully integrated into satan’s army at the end of Devilman Lady.
•In a way due to their Aptom-like trait of merging / integrating anything and everything (including inanimate objects), one can argue that the Demons in Devilman are the perfect opponents of Chronos / Zoanoids especially since the creators intended humanity to be a weapon from the start.

My perfect manga..hmm, something melancholy. Like something good could be happening but it also feels kind of sad at the same time. kinda hard to explain? I don't cry much so if a manga can make me cry then it's usually considered amazing to me xD I like slice of life and romance a lot..haha. oh! and I like simple, pretty art. My favorite mangaka is Yumeka Sumomo / Shara Mizu 😀 maybe that explains everything? I also love Asano Inio's stuff 🙂

I already found my perfect manga ; Mushishi

It has everything I could ever hope for in a work of fiction;

  1. A lovely, peaceful, tranquil mood free of ridiculous melodrama or dumb teenage-kid angst.

  2. Realistic, down-to-earth characters who feel like people you'd meet during the course of your everyday life.

  3. Just the right pacing - neither too slow, nor too fast.

  4. NO ROMANCE at all involving the protagonist.

  5. A sensible, mature, unpretentious main character with an interesting but non-contrived past that doesn't go over-the-top with tragedy just to make him look 'complicated'.

  6. Supernatural / fantasy elements that feel like a part and parcel of nature and not something that completely oppses the natural order of things.

  7. Atypical art where the people do not look unbelievably attractive just for the sake of drawing in narrow-minded fan-girls and fan-boys.

In a word -- a very non-mainstream manga that is lovely as can be! 🙂

Most of you guys seem to like realistic or tragedy type manga.I have to agree, some of the best manga I've read was down to earth and melancholy. It's interesting to hear what people look for in a manga! 😀

Quote from komurczakthealien

I would say Harry Potter, but there were some deaths that I didn't like (only 2, but...) and I didn't like the epilog. oh, yeah, NO epilog. like after 10 years or so. and I know that this my perfect manga isn't that type, but I really hate it when a character goes to america. what's with that 😕

I agree!I really hated it when

Fred died .And when the character goes to America it really messes with me,especially when the mangaka does not have a clear understanding of America (usually happens in shoujo) 🤢
