I'm female and don't care for shoujo.but read josei.whats the real difference between the two genre's? but i'd probably say i read more yaoi though.

I think if the series get popular enough, guys read/watch it
like Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura and so on
ad some are preety borderline, like Gakuen Alice and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles
on the other hand, my guy friend tried reading Ouran Highschool Host Club.......he ended it in 5th episode.....

Guys who read shoujo are gay? What a weird idea! Where the hell did that bizarre misconception come from 😕 Shoujo / josei romances deal with straight couples, so isn't it illogical to think that gay guys would want to read them?
That's like saying girls who read ecchi manga are lesbians...and I know plenty of girls who read ecchi and even yuri - and they're all straight 😮
I'm a girl, btw - and I read pretty much any manga that isn't porn (hentai, shota/loli, yaoi, yuri or smut).

We girls (or me at least) read shounen too, so why would it be wrong for guys to read shoujo? 😀 I don't mind at all, people should read what they want to read. We shouldn't be too rigid or conservative about the genres, that'd be too boring.

I don't like shoujo.
The only shoujos I ever considered more than "mere shoujos" were Aishiteruze Baby and Dengeki Daisy.

Personally I'm not a guy but I mean I read shounen and stuff so why can't guys read shoujo?

I've noticed a trend in the guys I've met who claim to read "shoujo"—most of them read harem, ecchi, or shounen romance and think it's shoujo. Not so, dear boys. I've never met a boy who actually reads shoujo, but I'd like to.

I have 180+ shoujo manga in my reading/on hold list, and 90+ in my completed list. Not that it's something to be proud of 😀 (and quite a lotta josei too)

You probably haven't met many guys, especially ones who aren't blind.
