Greetings, fellow readers. I'm honored to be here and read all your thoughts on the manga you read, like, and hate.

I've a simple question, though it may seem noob-ish or already be answered somewhere. Why not list the total number of chapters in the Status in Country of Origin section of the Manga Info page? It can be quite confusing trying to complete a series that has been published in multiple formats with different chapter counts per volume.
The example would be Urusei Yatsura (id=1052). Three different formats are listed, with different chapter counts in each. I note that the Releases list shows chapter numbers, so someone is keeping track. A certain other website, and I'm not sure it would be proper to name it, implies that there may be as many as 374 or 375 chapters, based on the chapters per volume numbers they provide.
MangaUpdates is the closest thing I've found to AniDB in the manga realm. Thank you very much for it, and please keep up the good work 🙂

Welcome to the forums, though it looks like you've already been around for a while. Anyway, yeah I think it would be useful sometimes to have total chapter counts for series there. I think I've seen some that do have the chapters listed there, but maybe that was only for series that weren't released in volumes, I dunno.
I guess it's up to whoever submits the status information for the series?

That's understandable, especially when you consider the effort is freely given. Still, it seems like more effort would be expended digging up complete information for each volume set than for a simple chapter count.
