In my opinion, Berserk gets interesting when Guts backstory begins. I don't know the exact chapter, but it doesn't start right at the beginning... So maybe you didn't get to it and that's why it didn't interest you.

Or maybe it's just not for you. Who knows, haha, there are tastes for everything.
