Just wondering if there are any manga like Angel Densetsu, but where the main character isn't as oblivious.

u mean cases of mistaken personality and whatnot? or just romance despite the fact that the main character is a dweeb or creepy.

If the former then the closest thing i can think of right now is a shojo manga:
Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge

If the latter then a shonen manga:
Ichigo 100%

Disagree. Can't see this being remotely anything like Angel Densetsu. Sorry.

Kitano isn't "rather silly". He's just a little oblivious to the reality of his situation. Anyways, he's way more likable than the main character of ichigo 100%

I've read Ichigo 100% and I don't find that series to be anywhere close to Angel Densetsu. As for the other title mentioned, I'll check it out.

BTW, I'm still looking for suggestions.

Maybe Rookies?
Has comedy bits, a goofy teacher, and badasses who like to hit people.

In Yamato, Sunako actually does have a creepy personality and looks "ugly," but in reality she's very beautiful and altho she likes dark stuff she also has a lot of good skills as well (cooking, athletic, unhealthy obssession with chocolate etc). I'm just going along witht he mistaken appearance theme. WARNING LOTS AND LOTS OF BISHIES in case you cant stand those bishonen.

You know, one of the good thinks about Angel Densetsu is it's originality, so you won't find something that similar. Maybe if you told us what part of that manga you liked in specific, it would be easier. Anyway, here are my suggestions. They all are fighting manga, and have an ugly or weird character:

Gorio
Zippy Ziggy
Change Guy
Nina Jalhae I would specially recommend this one.

Ii Hito is about a guy with a lot of personality traits similar to Kitano's, although he's a businessman who looks like a businessman. It seems to have a similar theme in terms of "do the right thing and everything works out".

Yeah, I wasn't really expecting to find something that similar (but one can always hope). Anyways, what I really liked about the manga (besides the story) was the main character, with the face/appearance of a devil but the heart of an angel/saint. But it was pretty annoying that he was oblivious to his situation so I was hoping there was a manga out there where the main character actually understands his/her situation.

And as for suggestions: Change Guy; read it up to where the scanlators left off; Nina Jalhae, been meaning to get to that one; Gorio & Zippy Ziggy, I'll check them out sometime soon.

I thought Angel Densetsu was the funniest manga out there until I read Cromartie High School.
