Description
From Del Rey: It's a gorgeous, spacious mansion, and four handsome, fifteen-year-old friends are allowed to live in it for free! There's only one condition - that within three years the guys must transform the owner's wallflower niece into a lady befitting the palace in which they all live! How hard can it be?
Enter Sunako Nakahara, the agoraphobic, horror-movie-loving, pockmark-faced, frizzy-haired, fashion-illiterate recluse who tends to break into explosive nosebleeds whenever she sees anyone attractive. This project is going to take more than our four heroes ever expected: it needs a miracle!
I picked up this manga years ago when I was bored. For the first few volumes, the story is pretty refreshing and different from other manga stories. But book after book, it kind of gets old real fast...especially how since there hasn't been any improvement turning the main character into a lady.
Also the girls were drawn very gorgeous, but I can't say the same for the guys. They are too skinny and their limbs are too long. The mangaka isn't very good at drawing body figure, limbs, hands, etc.it seems. The guys' "prettiness" make me gag after a few pages. I would recommend this if you're really bored and wanted something to do to pass time. Or better yet, just watch the anime. I quickly dropped the manga after a few volumes because as I said earlier, the pacing is extremely slow.
The boys are adorable and sunako is bat crap crazy so every chapter is funny and cute. The romantic plot is a little slow (the two main characters are tragically dense) but I really enjoy reading this series. I love the manga, anime and jdrama. Can't get enough of it
ok i started reading this about 2-3 years ago the summary sounded soo good but as i kept reading this crappy thing got crappier nothing is good like how it started the story isn't moving no relationship between our main changing way way way to slow story im so kicking this off my lost to ready anymore going to read other good stuff
btw i came to this story 2-3 years ago for romance since that was one of the genre but it lack that specially between the main character
going to forget this starting today and only enjoying my favorite Skip Beat!! which i hope last forever at least our favorite characters grow older and even though the romance has been slow in this too but at least we can see oneside love haven't read it for a while has i like to pile my chapaters and then enjoy rather then torture myself everything i do it all at once lol
I've been following this series on and off again for years, and while it's ridiculous that Sunako & Kyouhei's relationship still haven't gotten anywhere, (and that they're all still 15 years old even after a jillion Valentine's Day chapters), I've grown to appreciate it just for being a funny and entertaining slice of life-type manga. As long as you don't start reading this expecting a lot of development on the overall plot, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I seriously love this manga so much, I wish the updates would come in faster, but we all can't get what we want, right. When you're first reading this, the artwork is strange and a bit unusual, but after awhile you get used to it's all together uniqueness. Some people complain about the chibi, but it's never bothered me. The story is great and funny, but the latest volumes seem useless and not moving forward with the plot. Don't get me wrong I still enjoy the series but it feels like there wont be an ending anytime soon, like you could skip some of the latest chapters and you know at the end they'd probably be eating instead. But all in all a great read, the characters are amazing and the story is filled with laughs and the few romantic scenes between the leads are precious. I highly recommend you read this if you have a dark sense of humor, you enjoy a unique female lead unlike the annoying cliched characters and you just want to read something good. I'd also recommend the anime, I don't know about the live action though, I haven't seen it but I hear it's just as good. c:
It is my absolut favourite manga and anime MABUSHII !! But theres just something wrong about those guys lips. Especially Kouhei he kinda look like grandma sometimes, i hate it first but now it just make the manga/anime more amazing and funny! Sunako is so cool and i just love her SHE IS MY IDOL! She is not like all the other stupid manga girls who is glingy and insensitive about others feelings. She is perfectly fine in her head.. Mayby. And i also love all the other characters witch all have their own unique personalities. Brilliant Manga/anime! Though i want more romance it is good that there aren´t that much yet because then i wouldn´t like Sunako as much as i do know ;P
This series is simply overrated. While the premise started out interesting - traumatized girl lacking confidence living with four handsome men, it quickly got repetitive and draggy. I can't count how many times around Halloween and Valentine's Day have cycled through the manga. Aside from the first few volumes, there is virtually no character development. I just skimmed through vol.28, and Sunako is still the very same as she was - gloomy and "un-lady like". This series have dragged on for too long and the mangaka is clearly out of ideas. What started out like a great series quickly turned into endless cycles of repetition.
well thiS iS my firSt manga... and this manga leads me to the manga world but as the story goes on and on, i think its going to be forever.. hahaha not to mention that its getting to bored to read especially when there iS no progreSs to the relationship of the main characters... and ending yourSelf disappointed with the Story... but i dont know whenever there are new chapters being released i cant help myself to get addicted once again and crave more hahaha... just like seeing your first love again
i was addicted to this manga, maybe i still am, but i find it boring and repetitive, there's no end, there's no development, i don't see any character development at all in sunako, she is still the same, from the first volume till the latest chapter that i read. i think that the mangaka has no motivation at all.
