Don't know if it's been done on here before, but this is always a fun little game (usually found on the IMDB forums).

Basically you think of big-name actors and match them up with the Bleach characters who you think would be best for who.

Not a particularly serious thread, just for fun.

Here's my ideas:

In the spirit of the 2008 summer movie season:

Byakuya Kuchiki- Christian Bale

Kenpachi Zaraki- Ron Perlman

Urahara Kisuke- Heath Ledger (pre-dead phase)

Shigekuni Yamamoto-Genryūsai- Heath Ledger (dead phase; ho, ho, ho, I made a funny)

Toshiro Hitsugaya- Frankie Muniz (1st season of Malcolm in the Middle)

Shunsui Kyōraku- Johnny Depp

Ichigo- Orlando Bloom
Chad-Vin Diesel
Rukia- Jessica Alba
Orihime- Scarlett Johannsen
Zaraki- A big black dude.

Typical American casting. 30 year olds playing 15 year olds.

I wouldn't use American actors for anything set in Japan. It would look wrong and it would end up being a comedy as you laugh at the horrible pronunciation of places and names.

That said, I don't know any Japanese actors/actresses 🤣

Tatsuya Fujiwara would make the perfect Uryu Ishida.
Tatsuya Fujiwara is the guy from Battle Royale and Death Note the live production.

I think i'll actually put jap guys on here, instead of 30 year old white guys playing 15 year old asian guys. 🤣

Ichigo:Shirota Yuu
Rukia: Nakama Yukie or Ueta Aya(she's younger)
Chad: Now HE can be played by an american guy
Orihime:i don't know, but i guess she'd have to have big boobs.
Ishida: Tatsuya Fujiwara

😀

Bleach Live Action = Epic Failure

No hollywood studio, regardless of budget, could possibly do justice to a bankai transformation.

As for casting... I'll pick Vinnie Jones for Zaraki. For those that don't know, he's the Brit dude in 'Snatch' that carries the Desert Eagle 0.50.

Why not just have the musical cast do the theoretical movie?

I also agree 100%. The American actors/actresses are good, but when doing a Japanese movie would mess it up.

That's a good idea actually.

Why didn't I think of the musical/theatrical cast?? =D But yes, a bleach live action would be an epic failure. But if they were for some stupid reason to ever make one, it should have good actors. ^_^

Is that a slam at me?

Twas done in satire.

If I was casting the thing, and it was an english language film, I would go for unknowns, not necessarily Japanese either. I think characters like Ichigo and Orihime would look stupid as Japanese characters, although they are japanese. That's the problem I have with Japanese live action films in general, unless they are yakuza movies, original dramas, or period pieces.

Your post just happened to be shorter than eatpork's for quoting. 😛
