i think that he will die the same way as Roger did because i cant see him dieing any other way (actually i can see him dieing in battle for his nakama but i cant see him losing) and also Lucci explained that doing second gear decreases his life span so i can see him dieing early because of that and covering it up by giving himself up to the WG (just like Roger)

he is not going to die in the manga

the manga will end like every other good shounen does
with the crew sailing away again after doing some important and or crazy thing

his gear changing and that it drains him is just going to get forgotten or explained away

Now that somebody mentioned it, I do worry that such possibilities might exist...

I think that his body will succumb to the vigour hormones and the toll of using second gear. He'll just be walking along the ship all fine one day and then his body gives out and he falls overboard and dies.

If he does, and that is a big if(Even with him constantly wrecking his body and his own choice to shorten his lifespan with those hormones), die during the storyline, it will probably be during/after a fight.

He'll die as pirate king, after he declares war on space and is defeated by an alien or something. Maybe something to do with spiral energy and a universe sized mecha, since we all know heroic willpower keeps all shounen heroes alive through certain death, so it would need to be something big... so I guess shounen heroes are synonymous with zombies, or something. Awesome.
