I heard discussion like this on another forum. They seemed convinced that Luffy would be executed like Gold Roger. However, I highly doubt that seeing as the World Government is corrupt and Luffy being executed by them would mean that they would still be corrupt, and that Dragon's Revolution failed. And Luffy is the series, so if he's killed like that, man, that would be a depressing way to end the series.

On the other hand, I do see him dying a possibility. He could obtain One Piece and then die having now obtained the treasure that makes him the person with the most freedom in the seas. That seems like the highest possibility to me.

i dont think he has much of a lifetime left anyway with that quick revival done on him twice by that okama which reduces lifetime considerably

other than that he cud possibly die by food poisoning 🤣

Indeed, I imagine he would start a new era like Gol D Roger. After he travels all through the world and gets One Piece, maybe he'll extend the goal into space. Enel has shown that the idea isn't far off.

I seriously doubt Luffy will die, it doesn't really fit the mood of the story in my opinion. There is always a possibility, but Luffy's death is not the best ending that the author could create - like in Harry Potter, Harry could have died while destroying Voldemort, but that would have been stupid.

ummm, isn't it obvious?? After they circle the world and find raftel and OP and everything is settled (since it seems as WB already stated that once the treasure is found the world will be swept into a huge war once more), they will then go on towards a new adventure.....a new Log Pose, the old crew and the revisiting of the old friends and a new adventure, that kind of ending feels like Luffy the most

but I just can't seem him dying, when one piece ends (someday..) I bet it's gonna be a happy ending or some-sort. It's unlikely for the mangaka to kill him off I mean one piece will never be one piece without Luffy no matter what.
if he does die I doubt it'll be by execution by the gov. unless luffy gets a 360 degree character change or something..
