hi all, im searching for stuff that is similar in concept/vibe/humor to yotsubato. im sure there's not a huge quantity of light hearted, comedic manga with a single father and a young daughter and no overarching romance (but if there are please let me know), but even just manga with a similar sense of humor and slice of life format would be good.

preferably either no romance or a cute, non-dramatic f/f or m/m romance. i don't want it to have random sex scenes either, i want something i can read on my lunch break at work, easily put down and pick back up, and have a laugh. heavy on the comedy and fun, and low on the complex plot.

thank you!

I stopped reading it but when I was reading there wasn't romance. There were implications but it was one sided Sweetness and Lightning

Edit: Not necessarily single father but like babysitter? Baby, Kokoro no Mama ni!

Also if you don't mind fantasy The Skeleton Becomes a Cat Dad

Chichi to Hige Gorira to Watashi by Koike Sadaji definitely gives me similar vibes. There is a little romance but I thought it was a well-done portrayal of changing family dynamics over time.

You can also try theese:

There might be some romantic subplots, but they are quite innocent.

You can also read this too: •Bunny Drop: The story is when her grandfather is died and her mother doesn't want to carrying her because the past what she did to her mother, and Daikichi being an adoptive father for a little girl named Rin Kaga. (Kinda similar to Yotsuba)

Kumichou Musume to Sewagakari: It's a Yakuza theme with a wholesome story. When her mother had an accident and fell into a coma, Yaeka Sakuragi feel so lonely because her mother are not at home and Kirishima Toru becoming a Yaeka babysitter and carrying her. (The story is funny with the action side too).

I only know this when I watching the anime before. But you can also read the manga too. So this is all I can recommend, so enjoy! ;)

OP... Please heed my warning and don't read Bunny Drop. The poster before me did say they only watched the anime, so I understand why they're recommending it based on that. The anime is good, watch the anime. Don't touch the manga with a 10 foot pole.

With that aside, here's a few other childcare-related manga that hadn't been mentioned yet.

Lighthearted: Madoromi-chan ga Iku., Shirogane no Nina, Boku no Papa to Papa no Hanashi

A bit more plot-heavy: My Girl (SAHARA Mizu), Chichi Kogusa
