Hello!
I've started to get an itching for these kinds of mangas recently. The Yakumo-san wa Edzuke ga Shitai. type of mangas. Widow or divorcé that is still quite young, in my eyes, that meets a younger man and either quickly falls in love or slowly. The topic says slice of life so it would be nice to have that in the series that is recommended. What the man does daily does not really matter too much as long as it's legal. As for the woman it doesn't really matter either. The warm setting of the aforementioned manga is pleasant and as such it would be nice to have similar settings in all of the recommendations. What I do not wish to read about is either of the persons being undecisive and fooling around or someone else courting the MC's.

Of course, ecchi is not a must. The romance must not be quick, and it's fine if the romance has already blossomed to a relationship when the reader is introduced to the MC's. The age gap doesn't have to be a certain amount but I'd appreciate if it was at least 4 or more years. To be certain: the woman should be older than the man. Oh yeah, no hentai series as well please and I would prefer a series that is 20-30 chapters in or completed. As long as these are fullfilled I do not really care if its shounen, seinen or josei but if the drama is toned down and it's more a fun, happy manga-type anything goes. Oh yeah, don't wanna read about any shotacons either. Either the male MC is mature for his age, or just simply over 18?

Sadly my read/completed list is not up to date and since I've been reading some mangas while I've been busy otherwise with work or studies I have not been able to list every single series that I have read. I have tried to find these kind of manga before and read some of them at least.
Thanks in advance!

Maison Ikkoku - When Yakumo first came out, people were pointing out its similarities to Maison. It's about a guy who falls for a widow.

Natsuzora And Run

Thank you for the recommendations. I read Natsuzora and Run yesterday and it was quite good. Though I'd wish for more "safe" romances so to speak, without having to deal with meddling and annoying faculty which means if anyone would come up with some of these mangas without it being teacher-student relationships it'd be great 😀

I'd recommend Natsu no Zenjitsu. It's a mature, thoughtful romance between older woman and younger guy.

Merupuri and Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii are also Older female/younger male but I'm not really wild about them because the Male Lead is too young for my taste. But they have good reviews so maybe you'll like them.

Also one more manga is Bonnouji. The age difference is not as pronounced and is hardly brought up at all. However it's a super duper adorable and cute manga which I heartily recommend to anyone who'll listen 😀 😳

Much like above, I highly recommend Bonnouji. Another one is Hitorimi Haduki-san to 😀

Recommending Otoyomegatari and Game Over (MIZUTANI Fuka). Both have a nice ambience although the male leads start out a bit younger.

Wow you do know what you want ! 🙂

"I'd wish for more "safe" romances" : would you care to explain what you mean by "safe", I'm not sure.

I'd say yay to Maison Ikkoku, Bonnouji ... and to Natsu no Zenjitsu although it is more melancholic, nostalgic imo, as is Kotonoha no Niwa.

Maybe Ciguatera. Quite funny but often in a trashy way. Amazing facial art from the mangaka. From memory i'd say it's half romance half something else. Not a big age gap but the girl comes across as older (well considering the MC's depicted as a preteen lunatic...).

Just in case, do you know you can search by categories ? (https://www.mangaupdates.com/categories.html)

Thank you all for the recommendations, I will look into them all. Bonnouji was great and so was Hitorimi Haduki-san to plus Game Over (MIZUTANI Fuka). Which means I've read them already but might read them again just to have something to do. I have been planning to read the Otoyomegatari series and started reading it but dropped it shortly after since I got busy and just forgot to continue reading it.

Yes, indeed I can. Safe being that it is not in any way, shape or form illegal or well cheating I guess. Also refering to not having a bunch of friends that try to wreck their relationship or pesky teachers like in Natsuzora and run. Or like in some different title that I can't remember the name of where some co-worker started blackmailing the female MC... I dropped that series since it turned horrific pretty much. I like reading "the happy", probably since I lack that myself 😛 Anyways for the categories thing. I am well aware of that and have done that to find the what I have read before. But even so I've stumbled upon f.e that blackmailing thing, indecisiveness, tragedy and horrible stuff by doing so. I find it to be more fun getting recommendations and seeing what other people enjoyed or read within the same "genre" or direction so to speak. I've read a quite a few of the ones that I found to be available at least for me. Not all the mangas has the correct categories inserted as well so maybe there was something I missed because of that.

I started reading Yakumo-san wa Edzuke ga Shitai. because of your post and I must say I absolutely loved it! It's heartwarming and lovely.

Anedoki doesn't completely fit your criteria but it's really good nevertheless.

This is a rare category, which I love. The two best of all this kind of manga I've ever read are Anedoki and Kimi wa Pet .

The romance is fast and it is only 12 chapters but otherwise Futari no Renai Shoka is quite good...

Warning for Ciguatera.

The ending is fucking terrible.

The male lead spends a majority of the story trying to get with the female lead. He succeeds, but then towards the end, she randomly decides to cheat on him with this middle aged guy she works with at this convenience store. Male lead finds out, they break up. The End.

Ciguatera is for grown-ups. Stuff like this happens all the time in the real world.

After reading what you wrote in the spoiler I've decided to put that series on hold indefinitely. Pretty much the opposite of what I prefer but I will probably read it none-the-less at some point. Thanks for the heads-up!

Thank you to both cecropiamoth and kousora who recommended Anedoki. I checked it up and it seems like I've read it before. But since it probably is ages ago it will deserve a re-read.

I completely agree! It was a series worth reading.

If you liked that series you might enjoy Kawaii Joushi o Komarasetai as well. Just a blind guess but you never know.
Btw this is a two-way service so if you want me to try and recommend something myself just pm me with specific wishes etc and I'll try to dig up whatever I can ofc 🙂

It's not for "grown-ups". It's for people who enjoy bad writing. The ending came out of nowhere and ruined the rest of the story. The author was trying to be "edgy" and failed horribly.
