male:
if you have sister, continue.
if you don't have sibling, imagine yourself has sister.
female:
if you have brother, continue.
if you don't have sibling, imagine yourself has brother.
nah, if your sibling were an/a author/artist/mangaka/whatever that make an/a art/novel/manga/whatever that HAS INCEST THEME there, is dat possible:
that you just think "oh, just love story", and nothin else?
OR
you think that the story maybe based on his/her story?
you think that maybe her/his has that feelings toward you?
the situation turn awkward when you encounter her/him?
just write what you maybe feel, and maybe do...
finished?
nah, now, please positioned yourself as parent (mother/father) if your child wrote incest theme story.
(yeah, you have daughter AND son)
what do you think?
that just a story and nothing to do with real life?
OR
OMG is there based on him/her/their(?!?) story?
I'D REALLY LOVE TO HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS!!! Even if it's just one-line, it's fine! 😃
I'm just curious... for me myself, I will feel nothing though.
Or maybe it's like I DON'T WANNA think about it further...
I like incest theme story because, cause if it's a serious story, it would be an emotional and deep story, also good if it had tragedy, since I like it. But I thought manga that has serious incest theme is rare.
I only know Koi Kaze and fourth story of Hotarubi no Mori e. I really love the second, even if it just oneshot. Though the first title also good. Both lack of artwork, but it's fine since the artwork fits the story enough.
last but not least, sorry for grammar error 😐

I hate when people say the art in Koi Kaze is lacking. It's art is fantastic, in my opinion.
Anyway, go read Onii Ai. The novel translation is farther along, however.
(this spoiler is easily seen though if you have any intelligence)
It actually plays out your scenario of a brother who is an incest novelist while having a sister with a brother complex.
(this spoiler is somewhat less obvious)
The brother has a pretty bad sis-complex as well.
(DON'T READ THIS SPOILER IF YOU HAVE SERIOUS INTENTIONS TO READ ONII-AI)
They're not really blood related, and the brother knows this.

I don't understand this either, I think the artwork is great and I loved both the manga and anime; oh well everyone is entitled to opinions.

When this occurs I just really get frustrated, its like they threw out the whole plot in one sentence. If you were planning to make such a taboo story line if the first place, why cop-out with the cliche "plot twist".
As for the op's question, I don't know how I would feel. If I read the story and it contained many events that have occurred in real life with me, or at least I can find a great deal of resemblance, then maybe I would think my sibling would have some affection towards me, but that's a stretch. I would most likely just pass it off as my sibling writing some fantasy story and trying to make it as taboo as possible to get people interested. Maybe it was written with that theme to have a similar story line as the royal families of our history around the world, but set in modern times or what have you.
Here are some manga and oneshots that I've read that has incest theme: Flowers of Evil, Kago no Naka, Sore wa Totsuzen, Unmei no Aite ga (just the first/zero chapter)

I wouldn't be bothered by it. I consume material that has incest as a theme. If a family member includes it in their writing then I won't be phased. I include it in my stuff too. After all, incest is wincest. Except for het incest. That's a no no.

I know quite a few writers, actually (because of my job), and I can tell you from personal observation, the only time family members get upset over a piece of fiction is if they have some reason to suspect it's true.
If the writer is known to use a lot of autobiographical elements in their fiction (and family members would know this if they read other things that person had written), then any new piece of writing that person produces becomes suspect. People will just assume by default that there's more autobiographical elements. (I had a friend who whose mother was convinced that a certain character in her novel was based on her, so she took everything that character said or did personally, even though the character wasn't meant to be based on my friend's mother.) In a case like that, yeah, an incest story probably would raise a few eyebrows.
Otherwise, if people don't have any reason to suspect that what's in the story is true, they don't get bothered by it. (Though I'm told by my writer friends that they often get asked, "why would you want to write about that?!" if the topic is something other people have a tendency to find distasteful like incest.)

My opinion coincides with Mamsmik's.
I wouldn't have any problem if any one I know reads, talks, likes or infact is really in an incest relationship. I really don't see any good argument as to why I should feel wierd while interacting the person.

many responses, I'm so happy 😢
@Badkarma
That Onii Ai, saw it's cover, I must have take a look at it once...
But it has harem, so there's a big chance I dropped it. I don't like harem...
I tempted to take a look at the spoiler 😛 ewww 🤢
@quitit
Hooo, take a look at content first and look the fact in the real life 😃 yep yep
I also have read those mangas, And I'll gave 10 to Flowers of Evil and Kago no Naka. Love the story. And their artwork... nah, awesome. I love Yuuichi x Manami arc at Sore wa Totsuzen, and their arc continued/ended at ch 4 released by Village Idiot. Too bad their arc is so short 🙁
@caozhi
not be bothered 😃
what is het incest? though I've googled and found heterosexual incest...
@brid
You really open my eyes 😲 This statement shook me.

I got your answer resemble quitit answer 🙂
@Mamsmilk
also not be bothered 😃
@Nashnir
also not be bothered 😃
Since I like incest theme story, I also wouldn't have problem at all.
In fact, maybe I'll interested to know more 😀
But in one condition for me: As long as It's others. 😀
That's why I positioned it 'if you were siblings'.

In the very least, look at the first spoiler (it's not that much of a spoiler, really). And yeah, it's an annoying harem, too. I think the only reason I read it is because the "word fencing" the protagonist engages in gives off a Bakemonogatari feel.
Ah, I never did answer the question. I would be wierded out if my brother/sister was writing an incest themed novel depending on if they were hiding it. If you have no intent, there should be no reason to hide it. Evasive actions are a cry for help, and if a sibling had to mask their career from me, it'd raise a few flags.
I'd probably think nothing of it if I knew a friend who happened to be an incest novelist without intentions. I have no will to fuck my brother/sister; the very thought disgusts me. But for whatever reason, I see no problems if someone else chooses that lifestyle, in literature.
In life, it can't be helped. It's something to contemplate, but ultimately you can't really judge someone for loving another. Society tells us that "incest is wrong", and some people think society is something you must rebel against and criticize. I don't think that. Society is in place for a reason and human beings should act as humans. One of society's rules is that you shouldn't kill another human. Do you think that's wrong? I hope not, and the many shell-shocked soldiers that have crazy-ass delusions for breaking a rule that was practically hard coded into their DNA by society would agree.
But I'm getting off-topic. Society tells me that incest is wrong, and because of that, I personally can't view my brother or sister sexually. That said, I don't see a problem if two consenting adults wish to have a relationship, related or not, if that's what they truly wish. My feelings may waver, as I mull over the ramifications such a couple may have on their immediate family, but that's it. I myself wouldn't be the one to stop them, because I know I couldn't.
[fake edit]Ah, i just read what brid said. Yeah, something like that.[/fake edit]
@quitit
I know, right? Bad art is the beginning stages of Elfen Lied (<---EeeeeK!! What the fuck is that creature!? Run away, Mayu! Run away!), or to a lesser degree, Rosario+Vampire (it's not technically bad, but certainly gets more refined). Koi Kaze remained consistent and it was clear that the artist intended it to be somewhat sketchy, albeit not in an anatomically incorrect way. I also hate when people say the art is bad in Onani Master Kurosawa.
And I whole-heartedly agree with your spoiler. Fortunately, it planted that fact on you in the first volume, which in the very least gives it a feeling like it was planned from the start. If Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai suddenly went the same route, I'd drop it immediately.

ohho take a look at their action 😃 Ah. I like the point "If you have no intent, there should be no reason to hide it."
btw, What I mean by tempted, I've looked at the spoiler to the last, and my response is: 🤢
Yep yep, as far as I live, nothing I see wrong with society enough to make me rebel.
There are dissatisfaction, but everybody musat have felt it at least in one point.
Hehe, I agree with this

If that's what they truly wish... And not in cheating way.
Ahahaha about Koi Kaze art, what I don't like is the design of that older brother character.
Too bad, since the imouto'sso lovely.
Elfen Lied artwork also seems terrible for me (I've just read vol. 1), but in Nononono her artwork turned to be awesome though.

Once I got over the shock of my brother actually writing anything, I thinkI would probably be uncomfortable with it, even if it had no relation to our lives at all. I guess it would depend a lot on how he was acting about it (same for my sister).
I wouldn't ever condemn siblings that are in a mutually concensual relationship as no one can choose who they fall in love with, (parents are a different matter altogether for me) but the whole thing just weirds me out and I probably wouldn't be able to accept the relationship.
I think it's because it just seems so wrong for me to think of my brother that way. I love him to bits, and would do anything to help him, but the idea of a romatic relationship makes me shudder. It's probably some kind of defense mechanism against inbreeding hardwired into our brains, like a fear of spiders, which is why so many people are repulsed by it in a way we aren't repulsed by other taboos. (Though this could be because things like murder and theft etc get more exposure than incest so we become more conditioned to them.)
The pen is mightier than the sword...and considerably easier to write with.

If I had a family member or a friend write about incest I don't think I would be too bothered by it. I would be a little shocked just because its a topic that seems too taboo for most to write about. That's one of the things that surprised me when I was getting into manga, how much incest is written about. Anyways, just because you write about incest doesn't mean you are in or want to be in an incestuous relationship. Just like how people write about murder, rape, and infidelity all the time but have no intentions of doing those things.
I am a little surprised that some of you say that you would be completely okay with someone you know being in an incestuous relationship. I would be very creeped out. How creeped out I would be would depend on the specifics of the relationship, but I can't imagine someone telling me about that and immediately being like "Okay, if that's what you want that's fine with me"
I recently watched this movie about incest, Do Começo ao Fim, about half-brothers who are in a relationship. While I was a little disturbed by the relationship, what really annoyed about the film was how basically every one around them knew about their relationship and was okay with it. Like at one point their mother said something like "Well, I can't tell them what they are doing is wrong" and I was thinking "Why the hell not?" Even if its a case where, as @CuthienSilmeriel said, you can't help who you fall in love with, you can choose whether or not to act on those feelings.

I completely separate fiction and reality, unless actions give me reason to do otherwise.
