That would be half-assed if they only planned to get there. If they planned to get to the Christmas Bowl at all, they should be planning to win it all! And haha, yeah, they might blackmail the principal, but it doesn't sound like Hiruma was planning to do that, if they wanted to blackmail the principal into allowing that, they would've done so already.
