But not all smut manga are bad!! Yoshihara Yuki's stuff is really good and funny, and it IS smut 😃 .
There is no rape in her manga (the once I've read so far), unless you call "girl jumping on guy" motive rape.
Yeah, there's no rape in her manga ( thank god ), except for one oneshot. That "girl jumping on a guy" thing is really funny 🤣

I have never read anything like that. But that's repulsive. I mean, it's really idiotic. Rape is, in my eyes, one of the worst things you could do to a human being. In fact, in some situations, I would consider it worse than murder. Like I said, I never read that before, but I would never find any way to justify falling in love with the guy that raped you. I just don't get it at all.

Yea i read a few and was like theres no fucking way this could ever happen in real life. Though it works with hentai, cuz with hentai you could care less if its possible in real life.

After reading mangas for some years, I still find this act repulsive whenever I see them happen in manga. Still go uhhhh whenever I see the scenes and click the pages fast to skip them. I know these are just stories and some people like seeing these scense, etc. But I still don't like it that since these scenes happen alot in mangas and the popular media, they are someway downgrading and even romanticizing the horror of rape.
It shocked me abit when one day I was talking to someone online about International Woman Day in Canada. And how in Vietnam, it's a happy day since it's treated by some people as Mother Day. In contrast in Canada, it's really not a happy day since usually on that day people remind others of the massacre taken place in a University where a guy shot some female students because he couldn't accept the fact that he was rejected but there were females who could get into that university.
And this online person whom I was talking to commented why didn't this killer raped them instead, but shot them? Wouldn't he have more fun that way? I could understand raping them, but shoot them? I was shocked that there are people who think by raping someone, instead of killing them, you are being merciful, less cruel to them.....

I hate it I hate it I hate it. I can't comprehend how a girl can ever, ever fall in love with their rapist. I think rape is something that will scar you forever, that will haunt you even years after you think you've forgotten. It's a very violent act...it's never about love. Who heartlessly violates someone they love? I can't see how any girl would fall for that.
But then again, manga is fiction, and there are probably some sick twisted people out there who find it entertaining.

well even though it is disgusting, and highly unlikely, remember that experiences can change the human brain in dramatical and often very unpredictable ways. it might very well have happened in real life, but i do not say that it have ever happened.

agreed. i just don't know how people can find it entertaining.. it makes me sick.. sometimes i want to bash the heroine in the head because there's this perfectly decent guy who loves her and she goes for the rapist.. hehehehe ^_^

Pfftt how disgusting, that actually shows how us girls are portrayed in real life. We are always seen as theo nes who fall for the bad guy, which is not always the case. And rape is shocking anyway.
I think what's most ironic about the whole thing is that most of the smut series I've read where rape occurs is shoujo, not josei or anything. Shoujo. I mean, come on, it's marketed to a younger audience! I'm sorry, but that really pisses me off. Tons of rapes occur every year and aren't reported or are ignored because people believe stereotypes, and these mangas aren't doing anything to destroy them.
I must say, the most pathetic mangaka in this regard is, in my opinion, Minami Kanan. I mean, Shinju Mayu's bad and all, but her mangas all have rape in them, and she doesn't bother trying to act like she has a conscience about it. But Minami Kanan's a whole other story. Honestly, reading two or her one-shots made me sick: Jun'ai Koza Kemono Shiyou and The Second Rape. Why? Because the first one was rape, period. No degree of consent was involved, they weren't dating, and even if they were tying someone up and raping them while they sob and beg you not to do it, and fight so hard they get lacerations on their wrists, is not consensual at all. EVER. And yet she realizes that she loves her rapist, aww, how sweet. Compare that to The Second Rape, found in Kakene Nashi no Love Torihiki. It's about the emotional trauma a girl suffers after being raped. How the helll does anyone who writes one of the most vicious rape stories I've ever seen have ANY right to then try and pretend to have a conscience by writing one about the trauma associated with it? It's not pathetic, that word isn't strong enough.
And another stereotype that pisses me off on the topic is that while these girls are having their virginities stolen, they're quite enjoying it. No pain - or very little at least - is associated with it, and their rapists often torment them by talking about how "your body doesn't hate what I'm doing to it." Newsflash: if she's a virgin, it does. However, that statement is then followed by a flurry of thinking from the "heroine" about how it's odd, but she's excited by the way he's touching her! Try TERRIFIED, because that's what any woman would truly feel while being raped. At the very, very, very least, she wouldn't be enjoying it.
Honestly, if it weren't for the fact that every now and then I do find a good smut with no rape or blatant coersion, I would stop reading the genre completely, because it makes me sick to read about women enjoying being raped and falling in love with their rapists. That's not human nature, period. Someone should find a way to make the idiotic mangakas understand this.
poof "SHOUJOMAN IS HERE!"

It's pretty annoying...the worst kind of shoujo heroines are in smut stories where they become ultra pathetic and cry and weakly resist when put in these situations...but never do they physically resist the guy or make a real attempt to run away. That to me is so lame.

seconded. it just pisses me off SO MUCH. or even if the guy doesn't rape the girl but just molests her, it's still awful. series I don't like for this reason.. Honey x Honey Drops, Hot Gimmick, Love Celeb, Uwasa no Midori-kun, and more i'm missing. i know that there's a couple decent series out there, but nothing's coming to mind right now. D:

That molesting habit is what made me stop reading Love Monster as well.

Btw, I find the rape in plenty of smut much more frightening than many "rape" scenes in hentai. ^^;; In smut, it's almost close to real rape and the portrayal of emotions like betrayal, sadness, fear, etc., makes it too painful and hideous to even believe that the girl is actually "enjoying" it. It's just horrible enough to make me feel sick. 🙁
