Basically what OS do you like to use? Sadly, I only have experience with Windows since they basically monopolized the Western world and beyond. 🤣 Theirs is also more user-friendly, but I'd like to hear some of the "computer nerds"'s opinions as well, and other commoners such as I.

I'm on Windows too, using XP now, but used 2000 before, if I had to choose, probably would still be on Windows 2000. I have some little experience with Linux, should get used to it, but kinda lazy right now Ô_Ö.

I don't necessarily love Windows, but it's what I've mostly used so I'm used to it and know how to do things with it. I think I've used just about every version; currently using Vista & it's fine.

Mac...it's ok, maybe I'd like it better if I used it more? Nothing I specifically dislike, just some things that seem really weird and/or awkward, which may be just a byproduct of being used to Windows.

Linux, I managed to uninstall from a computer once, and it was a total pain in the a$$. From what I understand, it's great once you know how to use it, but it's not something you can just click around in & figure it out.

(Is somewhat a geek but not, alas, the computer type)

Windows XP.
I've been a windows user ever since I was a toddler. From 95 to 98, to 2000/ME and finally XP. Vista looks good, but its quite a RAM hungry OS, so I never got it D=
Waiting for 7 atm.

I've had bad experiences with the Mac OS, so it's definitely not one of my favourites...(I despise Macs)

P.S Favourite OS-tan is XP-tan, and 2k-tan is pretty moé as well xD

Pretty much the same...didn't even try Vista...

I'm planning to cross over to Linux sometimes soon...there's still the problem of me using some programs that aren't linux supported.

My main workstation dual-boots between Linux (Ubuntu Studio) and Mac OSX Leopard, although I probably use Linux 80% of the time on it.

My laptop dual-boots Linux (Debian) and PC-BSD.

Also have a netbook that runs a custom Linux kernel I compiled with a lightweight window manager which is perfect for these low powered Atom processors.

I don't have a need for Windows since all the closed source apps I run from Corel or Adobe run just as well or better on OSX or Linux (under Wine)... I don't do any PC gaming either.

Not a big fan of Apple's software or hardware, but I still need OSX for colour management and specialized printing (since the bastards from Epson make dodgy Linux drivers).

I enjoy Linux because of it's speed, security and modularity, mainly. Some aspects of it could use improvement though, like power management with certain chipsets (mainly laptops), unstable drivers for certain graphics chipsets and better Flash playback under x86-64bit architecture (purely Adobe's fault). Despite these small niggles, I don't see any other OS replacing it at the moment for the stuff I do. I've been a *nix guy for more than a decade, so I'm pretty used to the command line.

I have a mac, i wouldn't say it's a whole other world compared to windows but it is nicer, there are many little gimmicks that at first might be considered as not important but with the time you learn to love them.
Linux? not interested, why should i invest time to learn about an new OS if i already have a good one.

i am using windows, too. but i can't actually say that i am a big fan of it. especially vista gives me serious headache when i have to deal with so-called permission problems. (i still do not understand how can the only user and administrator on the computer doesn't have permission to delete some random file? ) therefore, i miss XP.

for other things besides windows, i have never used them and since most games doesn't go well with them i will stick to windows.

Lol... Vista... good old times... Had to set up my uncle's computer for him, and it ran Vista. The thing annoyed me to much I was about to toss his new computer... Well XP works well for me so far... aside from a few hiccups here and there...

Windows 2000 is defiantly my favorite, but I'm using XP, currently.

I tried an open source OS before and i really liked it, but I am to lazy to get all my files onto it and whenever i used the scroll button on the mouse it screwed up the view...and that killed it for me.

I've used windows 95,98,2000,XP,vista and mac OS 10 (No, I didn't buy them, our school and some of my friends just have old computers). Personally, I like the layout of vista and it's very fast (on fast computers of course) but the OS uses tons of RAM so I stick with XP.

Long story short, I prefer XP.
