Quote from pearlized
I'm kind of surprised how many people listen to rock and metal when working out. Normally, I listen to rock, indie, or alternative, but it doesn't help at all when I work out.
Music really does absolutely nothing for me when I am working out. In fact, I find it detrimental. I would rather concentrate on perfect technique and the task at hand than listen to music.

Either rock-y stuff or trance/techno. Dunno, stuff with a good beat to move to in general. I listen to a lot of Foo Fighters, RHCP, AKFG, Rage Against, NIN, Billy Talent, Linkin Park, Alexisonfire, Finger Eleven, Incubus, Bicattchee, etc for the rock-y stuff, and just whatever I randomly find for the trance/techno stuff. The only one in the latter category I really care about/listen to for anything else is Arise (Hammer & Funabashi Remix) by Mike Shiver and Ash F - so good! I heard it on an amv and fell totally in love with it. Plus the amv I got it from is awesome too... sometimes I'll watch it on my iPod while exercising. It's called Magic Pad and won the animemusicvideos.org 2008 Viewer's Choice contest.

Things with smooth, cruising beats and moderate tempos that I can zone out to.
CAKE does this for me, and The Strokes do this for me.
I am the God of Freedom. I am not revered, I have no shrines; and you have never before heard of me nor will you ever hear of me again.
