How do you feel about long anime flash backs?

since need be specification to whether i am referring to flashbacks that have not been seen before, or flashbacks that we have seen before but are too darn repetetive

well now for the big finale

what i was originally referring too was just any old plain loooong anime flash backs, i mean whether they have been shown before or not!
i guess since i am a pretty passive person, i tend to like seeing the charecters keep moving forward, and seeing the story line just keep flowing, it seems like a bit of a hiatus to the storyline when its interupted by a flashback. i would prefer a charecter to explain the past or maybe just a short flashback rather than an entire episode yet alone an entire season of flashbacks!!

There should be an option for "depends on the anime". Naruto/Bleach flashbacks are the worst... well, the anime in general is just bad. Other good anime though can pull off flashbacks well, in the way they were meant to be executed.

Yeah I was wondering this as well.

I mean, flashbacks of what we've already seen...If they're short and give an indication of what we're supposed to remember, fine. But if they go ahead and replay a whole scene... 😔

If it's a flashback from their past, well some anime's that I've watched ( excluding Nartuo which was dropped at episode 60 🤣 ) tend to pull them off well. So what Doc was saying about depending on the anime, it's true.

I like those dark flashbacks that they sometimes do that are short and leave you wondering what on earth happened to the protagonist in his/her past. Those types are fine. It leaves you wanting to know about their past.

Then there are some flashbacks that just drag on, and on, and on...

I like it sometimes when A character will have a flashback that spans over a few chapters or episodes.
like in Yugioh in the beginning of the Memory arc Sugoroku had a chapter about how he found the millennium puzzle that was pretty cool

I don't mind if it is something we've seen or revealing the past as long as its not too long.

Anyone still remember Tenjou Tenge? Half of the whole 24-episodes dedicated to flash back. 😔

Cause by what I've read from you. You might actually be asking about recaps...

Especially since this is Anime only...Manga also have flashbacks but no recaps.

Generally, I don't like 'em, especially when I'm watching episode after episode. But I came to appreciate them after I haven't seen a certain series in a long while.

This. I remember Tsukihime had an unbearably long flashback to go over what happened in previous episodes pulls hair out I watched it straight through, but I definitely appreciate them in some instances.

But when it comes to "in-show" time, they need to be short-medium length, and not repetitive. In Air TV, there was a very, very long flashback, and because it was so sudden and I was so attached to the "current" characters, it was very annoying.

I think there was some sort of flashback in When the Cicadas Cry, and it made me so confused I dropped it -.-

Normal flashbacks are fine, when it moves with the story, but long and sudden flashbacks are just aggravating, unless it's like the premise of the story.

In general, I'm just "meh" about them.

personally what got to me was

#1.when a whole episode is made up of clips from previous episodes

#2. when the flashback is of the a charecter that shows how happy he was when he was a little boy (running, playing and than the smile at the screen, tilt head and pause)
jesus christ!!!

#3. when the storyline is just completely put on hiatus in order to show about a whole season or most of it to a flashback! i mean even if its benefitial to the story line, i mean cant u just explain how you did things or show about a minute clip dubbed with the charecter explaining, rather than showing every little detail of how the day was from morning to end lol

And thats what really tinkles my tickers!!

i hate them especially if theyre long and too many
this is the that made me stopped watched bleach ugh
