Have you ever had an uncontrollable addiction to something? Whether it was something as serious as drugs to something as silly as videogames, food, or god forbid, anime/manga, how did you kick your addiction?

I was addicted to WoW for the longest time, then I knew it was too much so I decided the only way to break it was to delete all my characters (took a massive amount of will power, but I never regreted it)

I was addicted to Love Hina. I was able to kick the addiction once I realized I lost about half my friends in a week.

I'm very clearly addicted to caffeine, and have been for a while. But besides coffee dependency, it's not really a problem.

xombie had friends?

I am trying to quit smoking. Usually i need to replace stuff with other stuff so i am thinking of drinking heavily to counteract the loss of nicotine.

Just because you dont have friends doesnt mean everyone doesn't

Hrm.. I am addicted to Chicken Pot Pies by Marie Calender, yes, the frozen ones. I eat at least once a day, which as my father states, isn't very healthy. I'm as thin as a stick anyway though, so it doesn't matter.

I was addicted to this car game we rented, but then the we had to return it, and I didn't remember the name, so that ended the addiction.

I was addicted to Guitar Hero, but then I passed easy mode, and that ended the addiction.

I was also once apon a time, addicting to Super Smash Brothers Melee, but then I passed it on all the characters, so that ended that addiction.

I'm addicted to Manga, Anime, and Video games. Instead of doing my schoolwork, I always end up going to manga sites and playing video games all day.

I was totally addicted to WC3.

Upon this realization, I went ahead and uninstalled it.

A few months later, I figured it was time to reinstall and see if anything interesting had happened. Nothing had happened, but I ended up being bored with the game.

That was two years ago. Now I play maybe two hours of WC3 a month, as opposed to five or six a day at the peak of my addiction (right before I cut myself off).

I'm rooting for you on that. I tried to get my parents to quit smoking but they never did...sob

I was addicted to Ragnarok Online for the longest time. But then my computer got busted for a couple of weeks, and during that time I learned that I can live without it and life was actually better. 😀

I was addicted to, you know the game, MAPLE STORY. So, I spent my days playing and one day I realized that I hadn't eaten for a whole day!
So, once I got to the fridge, I realized that there wasn't any food left.
And then, I had to go to the supermarket(what was VERY frustrating) I met some people on the way home and they told me that they missed me.
I suddenly realized (another realization) that my friends were more important to me than maple (well... something like that. Not actually more important, but equal at the least 😀 , okay that's just sad).

I'm resurrecting this post because I need tips and suggestions for breaking this addiction. I'm addicted to posting on this site. Originally I just used it to find manga, then when I joined the forums that was only because of the "I'm Looking for" section. Does anyone have any tips on how to quit? (Don't think I hate the forum, since I'm addicted I wouldn't hate it now would I?)
