I didn't know about this new price hike. If TP want to maintain business with international retailers, they really need to justify this obvious and desperate attempt to keep above water. How can they justify a 192 pg book at $14.99 (BL series "Secretary" in the latest preview) and offer same price for Fruits Basket Ultimate Edition? FB is a Hard Cover with 488 pages! I know it's an older series, but the book also offeres color plates! It just doesn't make sense to me, and it makes me sad for the BL fans who will suffer for it.

Whatever the reason, I am always wary of TP and their titles, since I don't think I have ever truly forgiven them for cancelling "LIFE", that manga meant a lot to me because I'm such a fan of Suenobu-sensei's artwork, and the story is really good. I noticed that they have licenced "Eensy Weensy Monster" by Tsuda-sensei and I'll collect it, but only because a) I've read it before and liked it b) I'm collecting all of Tsuda-sensei's work and c) It's only 2 volumes long, so less chance of them cancelling it.
Way to go TP, you've made shopping from you quite convoluted! Well done!

TP's translations are also quite dreadful. If any staff from there ever read this, all I can ask is "WHY?"

I've been pretty much done with TokyoPop after the ruined Initial D. Pretty glad that Kodansha cut ties from TP. Otherwise, sorry for you guys who still wish to pick up certain titles from them.
