Also no one has a problem with Yaoi, that much is for sure. It's just the vigor that some Yaoi fangirls have for Yaoi that scares alot of people. Basically the people who proclaim their love for Yaoi to the entire world, whether we want to hear it or not. It's... annoying. 🤢 Like any other overbearing fan, be it Mecha, Naruto or Star Wars. Only because it's Yaoi, it tends to add a whole new 'grossness' factor to alot of guys.

ah, I see. yes, I get your point Doc. so basically since Yaoi is grossing straight guys out, they can come and offend fans of this genre and say that they are sick and etc, etc...hmmm... interesting. guess what, I also feel absolutely gross when I see a 15 years old guy is jerking off to some tentacle rape scene in a Loli manga. so how about I make a topic and announce this to every one? will you let me to keep the topic open? or you are gona lock it? can my hatred toward Loli or Shota genre justify my actions? ... ha, never mind. I am out of here. 🤨

You can read all the yaoi you want...with the filters option all is good...

But please don't make a thread asking for (if you're not a fujoshi, don't read the spoiler...it will ruin your day (week), as it did for me)

Tenma and Johan BL

...that's just wrong, wrong, wrong 🤢

You clearly misunderstood my point. 😛 No offense meant, by the way. Offending and bashing is always wrong, but so is being overbearing to other people.

Straying off-topic~~~

maybe if there was some decent straight type... I'd love to hear of it

don't want soft fluffy romances, lack of hot action, and can't identify with stupid weak-willed girl character...

Exactly! It's not like we're saying "Death to all yaoi and its fans!", but it's just that we have to, like I've said before, have it rubbed in our faces constantly.

My my, aren't you a little defensive >>
Also...where exactly did you see a 15 year old jerking off? o.O (No, really, it's quite suspicious)
If you were to make a thread about how seeing "a 15 years old guy is jerking off to some tentacle rape scene in a Loli manga." makes you feel absolutely gross, people would drop in and agree with you! (I mean...who wouldn't feel grossed out seeing a guy jerking off? aged 15 and no less >
&gt 😉
Really, yaoi fans can't complain about H because unlike yaoi, there isn't a "H revolution" going on.

Like the Doc said,

Basically the people who proclaim their love for Yaoi to the entire world, whether we want to hear it or not. It's... annoying. 🤢

my my isn't your imagination going a little wild here? but sorry that I have to make you disappointed. when I said this I simply was mentioning about what I have seen HERE, in the online world. now you get it? or should I really let you know how many times I have seen guys have posted in different forums, talking about their sexual actions/desires here and there?

anyway, this is off the topic discussion, so I will stop right here. you have a problem with Yaoi, it is not my concern. people are free to choose what they like or dislike. I too hate genres like Loli and Shota but I don't walk around and call people SICK just because I feel like insulting fans. this kind of behavior is what I find annoying and offensive, more than those Yaoi pairs which have made you upset.

If you're going to read Yaoi, at least read original ones. Instead of crappy Doujins that 80% of the time don't have any plot at all, and are just their for the satisfaction of MisterX&MisterY fans.

Hey, don't be mean to doujinshi, do you realize how many more female gamers Sengoku Basara franchise has just because of the yaoi doujinshi? 🤣

Really, yaoi fans can't complain about H because unlike yaoi, there isn't a "H revolution" going on.

But I really wish there was some sort of H revolution, like introducing more plot for a change.

Why do yaoi fangirls pair heterosexual characters together? Probably same reason guys pair up straight girls in lesbian couples. As for KH and little boys, just think of all those Hentai Hermione doujinshi.

Yeah, with my yuri obsession, I could never complain about the yaoi fangirls without sounding like a hypocrite.

I find yaoi slightly disturbing, yet its fans should be entitled to produce the material if it's what they want to see.

@Candyloop: i dont realy think boys pair up hetero girls as much as girls pair hetero guys together, not even a tenth imho.

On a side note: the only think that bugs me about yaoi fangirls is that they can claim proudly "I am a yaoi fangirl, muhahaha bishounen come to mee!!!!", and no one really says anything really negative (maybe "hey you naughty girls >:3" or "cmon girl, stop being obsessed already" ; ) , and its ok with me. Try to claim to be a general hentai addicted (because i think yaoi:girls=straight intercourse hentai:boys, let me know if im wrong here), lets see whats the audience's response XD

@grandexeno They do, they are just not as vocal about it in public, which brings us to the matter of public opinion you are mentioning. It's sad that guys feel that they need to hide their sexual fascination with 2d characters, but that's in no way fault of the yaoi fangirls, it's just the general prudish public opinion that makes it so.

Then again we keep comparing hentai to yaoi in this thread, all the while, only about 30% or so of yaoi can be truly compared to hentai (bara/g-comi included) the rest can only be compared to the smutty shoujo/josei romances. Not that all of these are not porn in one way or another, but the mechanics are different.

And while we are derailing, I've always wondered if guys freak out over yaoi

a) because it suppose to be about gays (it's not, but whatever)
b) because girls take interest in sex, instead of assuming the socially accepted "sexually pure" role.
c) because girls openly admit their interest in sex, while guys feel that they can't do the same.

nope, on average if you show yaoi to any gay man, if he doesn't find it distasteful, he at least will die laughing. Yaoi is written by females for females. It is basically what a female would like to have in an ideal heterosexual relationship. It also allows for females to be interested in sexual situations without being indirectly threatened by them (as there are no females involved). And that's why yaoi is more similar to shoujo/josei smutty romances than hentai.

I think Yoshinaga Fumi put the best definition about yaoi in her Flower of Life manga:

Female fans of yaoi are subconsciously attracted and aroused by the equality inherit in the relationship between two men. The love shared in such relationship is on the basis that one of them men, who is capable of either giving or receiving in sex, actively choosing to be the one to receive... to be submissive. This is completely different from a relationship with a woman, who is physically constructed only for receiving.

ok but in the end, with all the afterthoughts, the insight and the metaphores you want to pull out of it, a yaoi-something is always a gay relationship (sentimental->sexual relationship between two men), or not?

Personal opinion on the original topic: I don't like straight on straight pairings; I think it's just that some people like to see their favorite characters in any way shape or form. I just like "good" relationships, whether their straight or gay.

I'm straight. I read some yaoi, but I prefer shounen-ai and shoujo-ai over hentai because these stories tend to focus on the trials and tribulations of the actual relationship rather than the boinking aspect.

I have straight guy friends who read all of those genres as well, so they definitely exist.

First of all, I prefer the term "BL fan" not a yaoi fangirl. And some guys read yaoi too.

Answering the question:
Why? Because cute guys with no match (with either sex) tend to go well together.
Can't a girl dream?

Basically, (as I see it) we don't discriminate against gender. So a guy x guy counts the same as guy x girl.
Some of us prefer the guy x guy more.
I, of course (being a BL fan and all) see nothing wrong with that.

As @LillithGloria said:

Others prefer loli rape and the like. It's their taste.
And why can't we talk about that?
Some proclaim the neverending love to seinen everyday. And it's fine.
Why don't you bash them? Just because liking seinen is makes it look "mature"?
I like seinen too. I read every genre/demographic, and happen to like romance that some types of it I usually can't get from other forms of manga, so BL comes as a great alternative.

It's because of narrowmindness like that, that I made a
small sanctuary for us BL fans to chat without being silenced and looked down upon.
And everyone is welcome.
