least favorite
...ive read alot of books i just forgot after finishing them...so they are probably the worst
but books that made me kind of angry/dissapointed would be
anything by
Terry Brooks
and
David Eddings
they have a very boring way of telling a story i think
it never becomes very interesting,dull characters and everything feels very safe

and i dont think ive read one shortstory/novel by kevin j anderson that i felt was even worth the paper it was printed on

Favourite books(not that many but I'm starting to read again. I don't remember any of the titles I read a long time ago):

Fahrenheit 451, Brave new world, lord of the flies, Terry Pratchett's books, etc.

Big Brother wasn't too bad either but it started going into lengthy arguments over this and that, etc.

There's a ton of books I want to read too including Confederancy of Dunces, the Necroscope series, Dune, Hitchiker's and that book where this guy became super intelligent after he was experimented upon and many others. Oh and also include George RR Martin's books too.

Least favourite books: Most crime fiction books(Patricia K, James Patterson), chick lit books, etc. Also include a ton of vampire novels not 'cos I hate vampires but 'cos the uhh... writing "censored" "beep". Reminds me why vampire manga/manhwa is better. 😛

And then, also include a lot of fantasy books 'cos the writing is often detail-laden, not enough emphasis on characterisation, too predictable and the editing has seriously declined over the years(lots and lots of spelling mistakes). Also reminds me why I read mainly fantasy manga/manhwa instead.

anything by nicholas sparks...i dont get what all the fuss is about?a walk to remember and the last song were terrible(in my opinion)

I have far too many favourite books to list them all, so I'll just note a few examples: Catch-22, Lord of Light, Kim and Journey to the West are just a few of the many, many awesome books that I love.

As for least favourite, I reserve a special kind of loathing for the Dune prequels and the authors that created them. What they did to a classic series really should be considered a crime.

Even if it's not the worst, the Da Vinci Code ranks pretty darn highly on the "awfulness" scale. It's trite, flat, shallow, and altogether short-sighted. Just not worth reading in any capacity.

its not the worst but its certainly undeserving of the "bestseller" title
i'd give it a 5 out of 10
its full of inaccuracies,silly plot twists and is very disrespectful in general
the only reason i read it was because of my friends' ferocious recommendations...when i told them i didnt think its as good as they make it out to be they looked at me like there's something wrong with my brain
honestly 80% of bestsellers dont deserve being called bestsellers
BUT ive read much worse...
it is an ok book,something to read if you dont have anything else to do
but it doesnt deserve to become a publishing phenomenon in any way

I haven't read The Da Vinci Code as I was never too interested, so I won't comment on that one, but if you are talking about Dan Brown, inaccuracies and silliness, do include The Lost Symbol.

There are times when you will miss what you never had. I wonder how you will find what you so desperately need.

i actually have an long list of favorites but my least favorite would be the vampire academy series. Completely Overrated 🤢 it's poorly written and the author has an very formulaic, recycled plot that she's constantly uses in all her series. 🙄 I only liked 3 of the books but i think the only real reason it's loved so much is because everyone hated bella in twilight that rose was an refreshing heroine because she could fight and talk smack. but her character goes down hill after having somewhat good development in the beginning. the series had potential though, I like the mythology and the other characters were more interesting and likable. 😛

most favorite...I don't have a favorite book but I do enjoy certain books
Lord of the Flies, Kite Runner, Blue Heaven,To kill a Mockingbird, The Assault, of mice and Men, Rules of Survival, and..The ice queen(?maybe..). I enjoyed reading them they not my favorites.

My favorite books would probably be either the Immortals series, or the Protector of the Small series, both by Tamora Pierce. I own all four of each series, and I've read them so many times that I can practically quote them. For example, I managed to get my little sister into them, and when she was reading them she would occasionally stop to laugh at something. She would then look up to explain what she was giggling at, giving me the first two words of the line, and I would finish it and the line after, laughing. They're positively fantastic books.

Least favorite book...well, at the present moment it's probably Mastiff, also by Tamora Pierce. Not because the book itself is more terrible than any other than I've ever read, but because it's the final book in a series that I've been waiting years for her to finally complete - she kept pushing the release date back - and I had such high expectations that the book, frankly, fell very short of. I was actually sobbing at the end because I was so disappointed in it. It's now shoved in the back of my closet, buried under several old shirts, because I don't want it on my bookshelf seeing as I can't look at it without feeling upset.

Sounds like L.J. Smith's Strange fate has the strong possibility of ending up like this as well. 😔

Really? That sucks. I have faith in the author but I don't want to be disappointed. I will read it, of course. Though, due to your reaction I think I'll get if from the library and wait to buy it until it is out in mass market paperback. Arrrgghhh....starting to imagine all the things that could have gone badly.....

Okay, my favourite. Well, one favourite is impossible, but one of my favourites is The Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold. Gritty, with a cynical and idealistic and experienced mc (as opposed to the traditional fresh-off-the-farm character), interesting and well fleshed-out theology, solid characters and original story. I love it in every aspect.

Least favourite. Well, a least favourite book would have to be more than a book I didn't find that good. It would have to be something I really hated.... I just can't think of a book I hated enough to remember after I read it/dropped it.
