That comparison do animals injustice. Animals are actually quite clean. They only mate during mating season. While humans, insects and some animals do it all the time. Besides, I like humans. Their suppressed emotions and desires. Humans, if the theory of evolution and all other scientific mumble jumble, does not explain the origin. First, becoming a hedonist isn't truly wrong; afterall, we're here for happiness, right?

Second, because we seek simple pleasures, it does not mean we shun everything else. I think mostly, our culture influences us greatly. Our society today would be considered terrible by another time such as the Victorian Era.

So, in my opinion, 'sallgood. As long as we respect one another's desires and decisions (that don't directly affect us), we can live comfortably in a world where everyone is happy.

First of all delta go read Oscar wilde's book properly first. Second "that don't directly affect us"- the reason mnkind suffers so much is cause of this philosophy "well it doesn't really affect us personally so let's leave it alone". This is the reason why people like ares used to talk about the world ending. We don't mean it literally (although that's lkiely too) but more in the sense that everything is a mess people have no morals left, no compassion and every day the world is filled with more and more evil. Forget manga for a second that's fiction. Look at all the bastards out there that rape women, children and babies. Where is the nobility in their reasoning ? I'm busy now so i'll write a long reply when I get time. So much to say. Some of you people well at least the last two posters seem to have misconstrued my words or they simply don't understand. I wonder if some of you even have a spot of intellgence besides what you've been programmed to do by recall. It seems these days that universities are run more like businesses than institutions of "higher" learning as a result you get tons of these self loving new graduates who think they are such geniuses when they barely have the ability to understand anything beyond whatever it was they crammed into their brains to get their degrees some not even that. Before you throw your resume at me and tell me to go and read an anthropology/sociology book shouldn't you learn to read someones words and understand a simple thing called context first. Oh and I doubt anyone here has a job to offer you if that's what you're looking for cause although you speak three languages you have yet to fully understand the first one(I speak four fluently btw and a fifth is on the way). As for your grduation info. didn't ask don't care it's not related to anything I said and it just tells me that you lack the ability to compehend anything more than a simple way of thinking. Oh crap it's getting long now. Oh well when I get the chance i'll itemize and numerize your stupidity in a long post so that maybe you'll want to re-enter yourself in highschool and start actually doing some learning/thinking from there so that maybe when you graduate you'll be able to make more sense than my 10 year old cousin who by the way understands some of these topics way better than you do.
