Quote from FuN!
I read just about anything, but it takes a pretty good shoujo to rope me in because the usual shoujo art doesn't really appeal to me, but if the story is good then I'll overlook the art 😀
have to agree with you on that one. I also read what is interesting but I usually stay away from shojo mangas as the art doesn't appeal to me and most storylines are similar. I prefer seinen mangas for the mature plots and adult social issues that are presented in them. Shonen for me is more about the fun but storyline is also important. Haven't really read Josei manga so can't really comment on it.

I used to read a fair bit of Shonen, but now I only have interest in Seinen, I grew out of Shonen two years ago and now prefer the more mature and complicated storylines. I do read the odd Shonen if it's real artsy or an old work though.
Oh yeah, and I'm a 16-year old male.

Meh... I read pretty much everything. The only genre I haven't read much of is josei, and that's mostly because I find it more difficult to find by chance.
I'd have to say my favorite genre is seinen, though (out of the given genres, of course). I like shounen and shoujo, but there are soooo many annoying clichés... 🤢 But I tend to prefer series/books that make me think. (Then again, mindless gore is always fun, too. =D)
Oh, and I'm 16 and female. (... Even though most people think I'm a guy when I post online. ._.; Slightly awkward, especially since I can't figure out why...)
For most of what I read.......yes.

I mostly prefer shoujo, but sometimes I'll read something in a different genre. It all depends on the series.

I'm a 14 year old girl and...
Senien and Shounen = INSTANT WIN. (You get my meaning.)
Shojo = INSTANT FAIL (There are only like.. two exceptions. Vampire Knight and Hana-Kimi were/are decent. )
Josei = Ok.. I guess. I haven't read enough to judge it.
So, I picked no. Obviously.

mmm. I said no because I'll read all those genres and enjoy all of them. More of what I read is shoujo but more of my all time favourites are shonen so it evens out I think.

I read mostly anything with good artwork (even crap stories :haha 🙂 and most of them are stuff i have no idea where to classify, but it's mostly shounen and shoujo mixes. Seinen and Josei not really (especially not Josei) because I guess i'm just not the right age. Or mood. Or intelligence. Or whatever.

all my manga are balanced out . i read equal amounts of shoujo and shonen and seinen as well.
Ive read a few josei though, i avoid overly emotional stuff , like the shoujo fruits basket all the emo stuff made me drop it somewhere halfway.

i'm male 19..... so i'd be targeted for Seinein.. and that is my favorite genre, but it's not all i like i guess....
Genres in order of favorite....
Seinen
Josei
Shoujo
Shounen
but with that being said 3 of my top 5 manga are shounen....so i dont know how that happened....but yeah, i'd prefer more adult oriented manga be it Seinen or Josei, i pretty much detest typical shounens (boys who get strong out of no where) or typical shoujo's (stupid girls who somehow end up loved by the cold pretty boy)...but i think i hate typical shounens just a little more then typical shoujo's...

Expected genre is Seinen.... but I read anything that I like, regardless.
