I'm subscribing to this.
I played Alistair and the Bodyguard before. I'm planning to buy a DS to play other games but eh, kept on searching for these otome games but couldn't find any in english.
Pisces is my favorite. <3 (from in Winter). But I think in Spring has the best guys overall.
Lots of Otome games here.
An english patch for Starry Sky
in Spring recently came out, so you can play that in english... also, one came out for Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side: 1st Love Plus. There are two more patches that I know of in progress- One for Under the Moon and one for Princess Nightmare.Where can you find the english patch/version for "Starry Sky in spring"? ^^
Here is a link, but some people have trouble installing the patch.

Some tips for installing it would be (Windows 7) to remember to change your system locale to Japan, and to buy the game from a retailer and then apply the patch, as these games tend to have protection against illegal download.
Thank you!
Happy to help! I realized that if anyone has programming/translating skills, and want to help translate some Otome games, you could go to http://forum.my-neoromance.com/, as this entire forum is about Otome games... and http://www.rikkaidai.net/otomeeternal/, as they are an Otome game translating group.

Speaking for Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side: 1st Love Plus does anyone have a detailed guide? Other than the gamefaqs one? I mean a detailed hand holding character guide.
N/m. I must be tired as hell..but if you wanna link me to a guide feel free cause I'll still check it out.

what is applocale?
i found a great otome game Yo Jin Bo
i looked up the voice actors of the targets (who where mentioned in the walkthrough) and i found out that each of them voiced at least one famous anime chara. there where ichigo (bleach), itachi (naruto), japan (hetalia), kanou (okane ga nai), and kurogane (tsubasa resevoir chronicle) on the lists
i really recommend it

If I recall correctly, applocale only works for windows XP.

I quite like the Starry Sky series. I own all four original games, Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter, the anthologies, and all the pc clocks released upon their first debut. The series is also getting their own anime in the winter of 2011.
Here is their official website.

Otome games are a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. My guy friends tease me about it all the time. But hey, guys play VN games and ogle at pretty girls. Girls can do the same. Bishies, yum. I've only played two English otome games. Yo-Jin-Bo was quite enjoyable. I tried Re-Alistair (sp?)... it was alright. Not my cup of tea aesthetically or plot-wise. Mostly I play Japanese ones. There is a long list of ones I like.
My first time playing an otome
game was two days ago... and
my character died within one
hour. I didn't even know that it
was possible. I guess I'm a horrible
romantic gamer. Maybe I should
stick to RPG.
Well I'm playing Star Project now.
Hopefully, the heroine won't die
until her job is done.

I hear you say "Why?" Always "Why?" You see things; and you say "Why?" But I dream things that never were; and I say "Why not?"

Hakuoki came out last Valentine's Day, for the PSP. It's one of the first visual novels to be released in English. It's very good, and has different paths/endings.

Starry Sky. is. my. favorite. the most. omge.
Indeed just play the Spring, but not to mention the Anime infected me the most. 8V I love to check Otome-review too from blog to blog Somehow, yeah, their "reviews" are cool. Oh, "Always remember me" is good, and "Star Project", ima just gonna start it tho, but looks like it's pretty nice also.
