I like winter! I kind of go crazy and cook alot so my house smells really good, and I love fires and wearing lots of flannel (like a lumberjack). the only thing is that it doesn't actually get cold where I am so I have to miss out on many winter experiences like skating, ot building a snowman, skiing (not that there's even any mountains here) snowball fights, shoveling a driveway.... and the weather is really sporadic which is extra terrible for me because I work outdoors (in a swamp) and my garden always dies! and I really needed my basil crop to pull through this year, and I actually have to buy lettuce which is so expensive.... and walmart stops selling tangerines.... but other than that it is my 2nd favorite season (summer is the first)

Winter around here (south aus) is not exactly winter by others standards. No snow or sever cold, just lots of wind, rain and the odd thunderstorm. I much, much prefer it to summer when it's 40C every day and you cook in the sun.

On topic: Muddy boots. My boots get covered in mud and then it just gets everywhere, sigh. The amount of times my parents used to yell at me about that. Also walking to work in the rain.
Pluses: Doing anything (and I mean anything) during rough weather, I used to love working on the boats during winter (something which made people think I was bat-sh*t crazy (language?)), and running in the rain is something i enjoy, even though it makes me cough.

Where I live, we don't really get much of a winter (snow, extreme cold, etc). The winter is more of a "rainy" season for us. It is cold (high of 40) for two or three days, but then it's up to 65 or 70...but it rains at least twice a week. When I travel though, I love the actual winter season. Anyways...

The thing that I hate about winter is the damned heat. People in my area love to turn their heat up to 80-85 (in homes, stores, and cars) when it's 40 or below outside. I can't even breath. I spend a lot of time with the windows opened.

Quote from Raeryn

I was reminded of another thing last night: blackouts (granted, they are worse in the summer).

Unless living in a small town and the street
lights go off while on the way home. 😐
The rest is a quest.

I love winter. It gets dark early, and I can be cozy *inside *while it is cold outside.
It doesn't get too dry where I live either (which I am very grateful for)

Thing I Hate About Winter?

When in the same day: It snowed just under a metre, the streets aren't fit to drive on, the buses (my transportation to school) are not running, and the University isn't closed... While at the same time, the next university (the city over; 250 km) has all the same problems but has the decency to close the school... 😐

How on earth was I to get to class? Damnable labs... 🙄

Other than that? Nothing. I generally enjoy the winter.
