I'm pretty sure Makarov(8) is a member of the ten holy mages...so the two openings were probably the positions from Jose(Phantom Guild leader)(9) and Gerald/Seiglein(10)

It would've made a much better story if Erza died. She'd be a much more significant character if she had actually died, cause there's not much more she can add to the storyline.

Power only attained in life critical conditions does'nt mean you are someone who should be S-ranked.

To me Natsu is far from attaining S-rank.

I think the manga would have been better if Erza died.
Then maybe Natsu could have matured (and then he might have become S-ranked).

The panel i meant was actually page 4-5 of chapter 100
Anyway i still think Natsu isnt an S mage, although he spikes to an S' power in times of desperation/utmost danger. An S mage has ALWAYS that level of power.

she gained it only for the bit of time she was engulfed in the magic vortex (in it its like time flow and alternate futures become visible). Dont really think she has retained that power now.

Like dacbiet said, it's Dragonball logic. ... People try to apply it to the Bleachverse all the time. When will they get it that it doesn't work there. 🤨

Now-a-days in (Shounen) manga, there are more factors to consider than just 'power level' or victories.
